This school has a very low quality in education. The teachers do not help the students at all and when a student doesn't poorly, no one encourages them and merely sends them to the alternative for someone else to deal with. The school has very unrealistic rules. The principal has poor leadership qualities as do the teachers. The teachers are good as people, but not as teachers. Fights break out constantly and the students are highly disrespectful and are not given the proper punishment. The school is based on rude competitions. If you want your child to be a cashier at McDonalds or work in a lower class position, this school may be the school for you. If you want a good career and wish to benefit society, I highly recommend that you avoid this school at all costs. Having been a student at Lawton since I was in kindergarten, I know what I'm talking about when I say that Lawton High school is NOT a good school to have your children attend.
boring school. no extra support for students. senior and junior classmates trying to manipulate freshman girls. drama. fights. the principal has bad leadership . i dont know what was different the other years the reviews were done but its way different now. new superintendent, principal, everything.
Lawton is very boring. We do nothing here during school hours that is fun. We have barely any days to watch movies. We have lots of hw. And its no fun
Lawton is a good school for average and below average students. Advanced placement classes are not offered. Bright students are sent to the nearby Community College instead.
I am the parent of 4 children, all went to lawton. i am very pleased with lawton and believe that it has done a good job at educating my children. to the people who go on to college and do poorly i would like to say, studies show that poor performance in college is based on immaturity, poor work ethic and inability to live up to ones own potential. it has nothing to do with the amount of students in the school. and i wonder exactly how many were in Abe Lincoln's graduating class? good job lawton high school continue to educate young minds so they can go on to acheive anything they want whether it be an astronaut or a factory worker. factory workers are the backbone of this society and everyone should be proud of the hard work they do.
It is one of the best schools in the Michigan area. I am a 10th grader there, and i just love it. We have walls for once.
Having grown up in that town and being valedictorian of my graduating class - I feel I can safely say that I can rate Lawton honestly. I went on to the University of Michigan and was totally unprepared for what a real educational institution has to offer. If your plans are for your child to work in a factory nearby and has no aspirations for anything more, then Lawton High School would be perfect for them. If, however, your child desires a challenging career in any other field - I would suggest sending them elsewhere. In order to help your child achieve their potential, I suggest that you pick a school that has a minimum of 300 students per graduating class and has a proven record of successful students at the next level of education. Good luck.
