Both my niece and nephew attended Doyle Knight. Terrific school with excellent teachers. A big shout out to Ms. LaFave.
Teachers at Doyle Knight are selfless and committed people. I have come into the building at lunch time and have seen teachers in their classrooms working through their own lunch hours. Additionally, teachers are at the building before 6AM and after 6 PM. The communication between myself and my child's teacher has been better than the other school he was at. At least once a month, sometimes twice, I am infomed of my daughter's progress. Gifted students are challenged and special needs children are embraced. It angers me to see the teachers we so love treated so terribly by some of the parents. Teachers do what they can during the hours they have the students, and parents need to do their jobs, too, and respect and trust our educators and administrators. We love Doyle Knight and choose to stay even though we are from another district.
Doyle KNight creates a safe learning environment for all students. Students are not treated differently but EQUALLY. Each teacher cares about each student and students now it. Parents are encouraged to ask questions and staff and leaders are always available to help.
My little person attends this school and I am very dissappointed in the teaching staff / leadership.(or lack there of). There is no accountability with the teachers or the students. The teaching staff is lazy and have little or no interaction with the students in class. Work is being given out and directions given once and the teachers are 'to busy' and sitting at their desks doing 'their work' instead of walking the class and helping the kids. My little person and I was told if they have a question after directions were given to ask the student sitting next to them. Yes,unbelievable but true. I will be moving him after this year is completed. All who read, remember ARE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!
Unfortunatly my son goes to this school and I am seriously considering changing districts. The entire system is failing and no one in administration seems to care. I've tried working with them but have been treated with very little respect. They are the most unprofessional group I have ever dealt with.
