homeschoolers beware! The principal has preconceived ideas about homeschooling. Unless your child has undergone school meap tests, they will be put in a class with other kids who struggle. My kid's teacher was so strict that a desk wasn't even allowed to be opened without permission. VERY STIFLING & BORING environment for a brilliant home school kid. And, wouldn't you think that a kid who reports every day with a headache would be checked out for vision issues. Oh no - homeschoolers must not be able to adjust, that is why the headaches. Turns out, glasses were in order and no more headaches. No more Cherry Creek either. Keep on homeschooling!

I went into Cherry Creek with many hesitant feelings as a homeschool mom...I had an idea as to what I wanted my children's education to look like and achievements they would need to make. What I found was a school open to parent participation, welcoming ideas, supported by the principal, willing to learn and grow along with the students. I was impressed by their dedication to Character Education and by their willingness to listen to ideas and thoughts I had on my children's educational process. I feel that Cherry Creek is a good school well on the way to being an excellent school.

I have a son who has social issues but not academic. Meetings were set up but we were never contacted to attend them. His doctor gave and set up options to help him, but were never followed through. No communication from the school staff to the parents. Teachers are very uncaring and act as if my son is a nuisance to them. I love the Lowell area, but very disappointed in this school in particular. I have students both in Bushnell and LMS and have no issues with either of them. Cherry Creek is very unorganized and the staff there seems to need more education on how to deal with children of all types.

I have a son, who requires Resource room services. I discovered his teachers were not following his I.E.P.( Individualized Education Program ). They decided that he didn't need the additional help in the resource room. My son has struggled in 5th grade, because he has school teachers who only do the minimum that is required of them. This school has alot of young, lazy teachers.

I have a child that is a high social & academic achiever and another child that struggles socially & academically. This school has numberous programs for the average to above average student. However, parents of students requiring more attention may be frustrated trying to get the help their child needs from the school in a timely manner. When addressing a course of action for my challenged student midway into his fourth grade year, the school diddn't follow through. His fifth grade teacher, Mr. Jacobus, was a God-send. But when his file was red-flagged for attention going into sixth grade, an SOS meeting was set up that the counselor & two other teachers never followed up on (and I even gave my home e-mail address so I could help). My high achiever sometimes feels too much pressure to succeed.
