MCS has taught me so many things that I would not have learned in a public school. I have attended public school and know from experience that the education at Midland Christian School is nothing but the best. It has been a privilage to watch my school grow so much in the past few years. With our new principal (Mr. VanDerhoof) our school has become more classical. Classical education has helped me think logically and understand the English language better through the learning of Latin. The teachers at MCS are of the highest quality. They love their students. This is obvious because most of them could teach anywhere but they chose MCS, despite being underpaid or being a volunteer, because they can see amazing things happening here. They truely care about us and will do anything to help us succeed in life.

My child has attended MCS since 4 years of age. The quality of education is superb and it is proven by the fact that these teachers WANT to be here. they WANT to be with our children and to teach them in a warm and loving environment - rather than be 'tenured' and coast along in the public system. Though the school is small - it continues to grow and this environment allows for the one-on-one teacher to child interaction. This is proven in the high MEAP and SAT test scores and in the proven success of our graduates. I could not imagine my child going to the Midland public school system. not for the lack of the Christ centered teachings, but because of the QUALITY, RESPECT, and LOVE OF TEACHING which is displayed each and every day. The tuition is worth every penny - my child loves it!

Just this past year I attended Midland Christian School fo the first time. I was very surprised at how small it was and how enclosed the school is. But, this small size isn't always a bad thing. I realized that it's a lot easier and faster to learn with the small class sizes and you get longer lasting friendships because you are with people all day every day. The environment is positive and the teachers encourage you to do your best in all areas. The size is also fun because the school is closer and more unified, and the students feel safer. Overall, I feel Midland Christian School is a good investment, and, in the long run, will help your child to grow stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The best thing that I could do for my son in the 4th grade was to put him in this school. He is a child that needs the smaller classes and one on one teaching. A smaller school enables the parents to interact with the teacher and staff to make behavier and disipline better for the student and learning. He is now in the 8th grade (2003), last year was the first time that we never went to the principal's office once, he is looking forward to school starting and seeing the teachers again. Before he hated school. He has learned how to study and the reason for doing school work and studying. He is now talking about what he is going to college for. I am looking forward to another year at Midland Christian School.I encourage everyone to take a look at private schools.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
