My grandson attends Johnson Elementary and is thriving and flourishing in this environment! He is a 5th grader and reads at a 10th grade level. They must be doing something right!
My son started here in March. His teacher has gone out of his way to make him feel welcome, and the learning has been fun and creative and fun for him. We are so happy he is there and are looking for for are daughter to start there in the fall
My grandson has attended Johnson Elementary since kindergarten. He's now in the 3rd grade and he loves his teacher and his school! That says alot. He does very well and is already reading at a 6th grade level. That can only happen in a school with a very caring and devoted staff.
The teachers are great for the most part, All of the teachers My child has had have been terrific. I am happy with the scholastics and curriculum.
Last year 2005 was my first year at this school and to be honest I was very pleased with my daughters teacher including the after care program. My daughter learned alot and is excited to return, which is the way it should be. They have alot of parent involvement (should be). From a 2nd grade mom.
Jonhson Elementary is a wonderful place for children to go! With a caring and energetic office staff, creative teachers, and a principal who makes a difference, my children are lucky to attend a school of this quality! It is few and far between that you find people so devoted to their jobs who truly love what they do! Thanks Johnson Elementary!
This is an excellent school with dedicated teachers and a very caring and friendly office staff. The principal does an outstanding job as does the PTA. I have had three children go through Johnson in the past 10 years. My children have excelled in Middle School and High School because of the strong educational base they have received at Johnson. I am only sorry this is my youngest child s last year and we have to move on. We will be back to visit these wonderful people. Our children are lucky to have had the opportunity to attend Johnson; it has enriched all of our lives.
I have not been impressed with this school at all. I think the principal is weak and is afraid of enforcing rules, for fear of backlash from parents. I am very sorry to have left our previous elementary school within the same district. The PTA also seems to be more concerned with 'attaboys' and their own recognition then actually making a difference for the kids at the school. New leadership at the school and a few retiring would help.
I have had four children go through Johnson during the past 12 years, and I found it a great school. There is a lot of parent involvement from kindergarten through fifth grade. I have worked with the teachers and support staff and found them to be very interested in the kids and supportive of anything to help their education. The building isn't fancy (although the PTA did put in a brand new playground last year) but if you are intersted in a community of caring people for your child this is the place.
This school is a big dissapointment. The staff is full of a lot of teachers who should not be teaching. They have no patience, no kindness and complain about their jobs all the time. The principle is not open minded at all and is hardly ever available to speak with parents. They offer nothing to a childs education.
