This is a very good school. I graduated from there and I am thankful that I had such good teachers. They prepared me for college. I am very happy that I went there because I also got a college scholarship for athletics. I would recommend this school to everyone!

We have sent six children through this school over the past fifteen years and are well satisified. Teachers are dedicated and freely offer their time outside of school hours to help kids. The quality of the education is evidenced by the consistently high scores achieved by students in all types of testing. In addition to offering a full range of sports and other extracurricular activities, SMCC also requires that each student perform community service; building character is a priority. Are there problems? Of course, but they are the exception and not the rule, and some folks choose to blame the school when their kids mess up. The parents we know are involved in their kids education, otehrwise they wouldn't be sacrificing to send them there. Incidentally, my nine brothers and sisters and I also attended and we feel privileged to have gone there.

I would not recommend this school to anyone. The teachers are absolutely horrible and don't help you when you need the help. The principal is oblivious to everything going on at the school. There is always someone smoking or coming to school drunk. Try to avoid this school whenever it is possible.

I agree with enverything the previous review had to say, except the comment regarding girls athletics. They won the league basketball title this year and had a female tennis player make it to the state finals. The girls also participate in swimming and cross country in the fall as well as a full slate of sports during the remainder of the year. Girls and boys sports are phenomenal, which is right in sync with the rest of what SMCC has to offer.

The teachers and staff at SMCC are awesome. All of the teachers give the parents their home phone numbers and encourage you to call if you have any concerns. Students and parents are involved many aspects of school and activities. My wife has traveled on a few over night trips with the school and comes home every time amazed at how well behaved and polite all of the kids are and how many compliments they get from other adults. The education at SMCC can't be beat and it is worth every penny. The only down side is in girls athletics. The boys athletics are outstanding. SMCC is a GREAT school for boys and non-athletic girls.
