I feel that this school fails on all levels to teach the student core values that people in today's society need to be taught. As a parent of this school I feel that teaching the students to be discriminatory towards another group of people is unacceptable, run as far away from this school as you can!
This school has small class sizes. Students receive much attention. Emphasis on academics and students being part of a community regardless of religious affiliation. Parent involvement is welcome and appreciated. I love this school and wish I had been able to go here!
I like this school because everybody knows everybody, I could walk up to basically anyone in the school and I would know their names.... Great learning environment, great teachers and I couldn't be happier with this school!
I sent my child to SHA because we're Catholic, we were new in town, and my kids have always attended Catholic schools. In the Elem school, teachers were great, caring, noticed little issues that could have become bigger issues. In the Middle School, a couple of teachers have been the bane of my existence. Very un-Christian attitudes, almost hateful towards some kids. You'd think they want the kid to fail the class. I have to stay on top of the teacher rather than the teacher staying on top of my child's work. I have to check to see if he/she isn't short changing my child. The rest of the Middle School teachers are wonderful and teach with an inclusive environment rather than a 'banking' environment. They don't 'deposit' knowledge into your child's head and expect them to spit it back out. I expect better next year.
By far the greatest learning environment in Mount Pleasant. The classes are small, everybody knows each other, parents and teachers can keep track of the students, no gangs, very few bad apples. Excellent MEAP scores every year. With limited resources, they do a great job
Great meap reslts throughout the school. Caring teachers that are dedicated to all students. A family type setting where everyone helps each othters children and families. Great principal that works well with the teachers and families. Weekly mass for all student is a plus. Most if not all graduates go on to college after graduation.
My kids have been at SHA since Kindergarten and we couldn't be happier. The quality of education is measured by their exceptional MEAP scores ever year as the highest in the area by far. We are most pleased with the level of community amongst the students, parents, and staff. You would be very hard pressed to find a stronger bond anywhere. When kids stay at one school for 13 years, they develop very close bonds with one another and the parental support is amazing. With this level of support and dedication, Sacred Heart is the right choice for us !
Very Poor Education. Teachers hardly notice if there is a problem in your child's abilty to learn. They care more about preaching about Jesus than eduation as a whole. Hardly any class that educate the future, including prep classes for college. Teachers leave and go as they please every year and hardly anyone gets a full education.
I sent my child here because I heard that Sared Heart Academy was a really good school. So, I decided to send one of my kids. He went to school in a uniform and he looked so nice and neat, just the way I wanted him to look and the he came back home and said mommy this is hard. Later, I got his results on the meap and they were a lot higher than usual and I was astonished. Thank You, Sacred Heart.
