William G. Mather Elementary School

I recently retired from Central Elementary School in Munising after 23 years, During those years I worked with the best teaching staff, paraprofessionals and principals ever to be found and the students were also the best. We were like a big Family. Everyone at the school cared about the students and gave them the best education possible. The students in return were happy, polite and also very kind to one another. The one thing that stands out most with the children is how accepting and kind they were of children with disabilities or children of different ethnic backgrounds. It didn't matter, they just took them into the fold and made them feel secure. It was the greatest 23 years and I am so thankful to have been a part of Central Elementary School.

All four of my children attend this school. I find all the teachers to be great. If I don't like something I talk to the Principal and it gets taken care of. It is a safe community and you know what your children are doing.

Pretty good school, Ok community. Depends on what grade your child is in. School will not separate challenged kids from advanced as not to offend anyone, so if your child is advanced they are rarely challenged. Teachers spend their time dealing with the social/personal problems of the few while my child self studies in a work group or by themselves. There is no good plan for school safety, teacher development, etc..
