uhm i go to Negaunee High School and I'm sick of people saying on here that it's not a good school, Negaunee is a amazing school yes there are cliques but you don't get looked down upon for not being in a sport. I myself and not in a sport and any club.. ect. and I am treading very well by my peers and such on, and the teachers are a very good help. they have helped me with my math skills and have helped me get straight A's they encourage every student and don't judge. sincerely and student of NHS.

I am a former student.. unfortunatly. I was very unpleased with this school for a number of reasons. I saw a comment on here about the school spirit and how if you were not involved in sports you were looked down upon, which is true. But it is more than that. Sexual orientation, different religions, ethnicities, and the whole sport thing can really affect how well you fit in this school. Don't expect the teacher's to help you because they really won't care. I wish I could have the 4 years of my life I spent at Negaunee High School.

Negaunee High School prepared me very well for my college education. Although NHS did not have AP classes, I easily adjusted to college and found my engineering degree easily attainable. Taking the advanced classes at NHS helped make my freshman year of college a breeze and allowed me to finish my degree in 4 years. NHS has teachers that truly want you to succeed.

As a former Negaunee student I have to clash with some of the happy reviews on here. I am currently in college and the near lack of AP classes at the HS (AP Calculus is the only Advanced Placement class offered) really stunts those who attend college outside of the area. Furthermore there are several aspects of the quality of education that leave a lot to be desired. Many teachers hold their positions because of their coaching jobs, and are rather underqualified to teach the subject given. Of course the school is known for its sports programs but it is necessary to think of the 2/3 of the student body that is not involved in sports before making an estimate of the high school. Extracurricular programs favor those who live in town and are able to attend. With such a large district (Two townships and two municipalities) outliers are scorned.

I disliked this school cause of the spirit was too high and if you werent into sports you were looked down upon. I went there for 3 years. The school is more upon sports than education. I wouldnt choose that school again for anyone. I wouldnt send anyone to Negaunee schools. Im telling others and they feel the same way now. Letting people know that Negaunee is a terrible school.

I have 3 daughters that have attended negaunee schools. We have currently moved 23 hours away, our children now go to a school of 1885 students. Negaunee is excellent with all of its resource teachers and one on one help for your children. We certainly miss this for our girls. The school they are in now is very impersonal and office staff isn't very helpful, office staff in NHS is wonderful. Can't say enough about the staff in NHS. We have block scheduling down here and it is terrible. Very low school spirit here, where as in Neg. school spirit is unbelievable. Keep taking pride in Negaunee you are doing a wonderful job. We are proud to say we are from Negaunee. It seems teachers in NHS take a personal interest in their students and want to see that each and everyone succede in school and in their personal lives. I am a graduate of Negaunee High School, and I am proud of the heritage. Even though I am now more than 15 hours away, I am more than glad to say that I am from Negaunee. The teaching was excellent, and the school spirit cannot be topped. Keep up the good work!

Our daughter is attending school in Neguanee by choice. We drive one-way 18 miles to take her there. We checked into several local high schools prior to make our decision. We think the principal is tops. The office help is outstanding. We have not had any doubts or concerns with having our daughter attend Negaunee. We recently moved to the UP and our daughter attended private school down there and Negaunee ranks up there with great private schools!
