While Brandywine is a small district without luxuries, the school provides many opportunities for students including all standard sports, music, a yearly high school musical, fine arts, languages, theater class, and participation in area arts programs, to name a few. Teachers and administration are generally very supportive of students and care about students' success. I do wish the high school would provide AP classes to give college bound students better preparation; however, my Brandywine graduate child is attending a Big Ten school and is maintaining a GPA above 3.8 despite the fact that most of her college peers went to much bigger, richer schools. I'm pleased to be the parent of a Brandywine grad (who attended grades K - 12) and a Brandywine patron.

My child attended Brandywine and never had to write a research paper after the eight grade level. My child now attends a Big Ten school, but finds that they are so underprepared for the academics there (yet graduated with a 3.96 GPA from Brandywine). It is sad to hear my child say, the great disappointed in their high school and the teachers who did not teach to the state Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE's). When he said, "If I could shut down Brandywine, I would.", it made my heart break thinking the decision to send him there is one I could have prevented!

I am sorry to say that I have not had such a great experience with my child who has a learning disabiliy. The school seems content to let him fail. He has received little to no support and I have been treated with little respect.

Brandywine has the best group of people making wonderful changes to our school. I'm proud to say I graduated from there and have two children that did also and a freshman!!!

Brandywine High School is a small close-knit school where I used to teach (my first full time poistion as a teacher). The staff and students are wonderful, community-minded people and the school stuggles with the day to day issues of providing a quality education. I love this school with all my heart!

Brandywine truly cares about the success and well being of each and every student and sees the student for who they are. something Niles HS doesn't. The small school size is an asset and its a shame others don't realize the gem they are missing.
