Lots of diversity in this school - and that's the only positive thing I can say about Parkview Elementary. Clearly, the previous positive reviews were written by the principal Mrs. M herself. Reviews dated 4/4/10 & 2/24/10 speak the absolute truth - so that just dates that kids at PV have had to endure this shoddy leadership for quite awhile now. This school does not have a control over bullying/gossip/peer isolation - whatever pretty little bow Mrs. M decides to put on the word that week. She will come across as concerned for a situation, draw clever little circles & diagrams on paper, but she is just an impressive shell of hot air. She is not fit to lead; she touts her "professional" expertise and years of experience in parents' faces, but doesn't know the first thing about resolving issues; often speaking with too large of a vocabulary/way over elementary kids' heads & confusing the issue further. Her lack of respect is mimicked by some staff @ PV (except Ms.K - Media - who ALWAYS enjoyed the children, had a welcoming smile, & ALWAYS a kind word!) & do not appear to enjoy teaching at that school on a daily basis. I removed my child & we chalk PV up to one big mistake!

The principal at Parkview is wonderful. I had an issue come up early in the year and I received immediate feedback with action behind it. If your child is bored, you should seek testing to place in a more approprate grade. Not everything is the teacher or principal's fault. Parents need to take some responsibility for educating their children as well. The schools need more parent involvment...can't even get enough help with the kid's parties or fun school events, its a shame. Stop complaining and get involved!!!! We are lucky to have such wonderful schools here.

Principal really needs to be replaced! She has no notion of differentiated education. Many parents complain of their children getting bored. Principal refuses to address the concern. We have heard great things about other Novi elementary schools - they seem to respond to parent input.

I have a child that attends this school and so far the teachers have been wonderful. The teachers I have met so far provide a great atmosphere towards developing the young minds. However, due to the Principle Leadership, I am giving this school a rating of less than 5. Mrs. Michos is far from being a strong leader or someone you can have confidence to get the job done. Another thing I find lacking in the Principle Leadership is on more than one occasion she has pushed accountability on others. The times I had to talk with Mrs. Michos, I felt like I wasted time out of my schedule to hear political rhetoric instead of defined action plans. For school events I have attended, she is disorganized with no control of the surroundings. Parkview is lucky to have strong leadership and devotion in the Teachers to carry that school forward.

I teach at Parkview Elementary and have the privilege to work with a team of caring professionals under the direction of a dynamic principal! She understands the educational and emotional needs of students and staff and sets a culture of leadership and success. Parkview is an exceptional place for teaching and learning!

The principal leadership at this school is extremely poor, and brings down most of the staff. However, my child was lucky enough to get Mrs. Ukrop for 2nd grade this year and that made all the difference-she is the best teacher I have ever encountered in any school. All of her students love her with good reason; she actually cares about her students.

Our family loves this school! I have a second grader who attended Parkview for two years. All of the teachers are professional while a good mix of fun for the kids. Music, art, and Spanish are top notch here. Parent involement is evident throughout the school. I was always invited to help out in the classroom and throughout the school. I highly recommend this school to everyone.
