Norup International School

My son started Norup this Fall and I have to say that I am very pleased. Norup has wonderful teachers and a lot of activities for students. My son also participates in their Latchkey program and it is well organized and the students are always supervised. For the first time since Kindergarten, my son wants to go to school everyday. For a parent, this is the best feeling ever!

Fantastic community of learners! Norup has really "gelled" this year. Yes, in years previous, they did an outstanding job in exposing children to global learning while making sure that the state benchmarks were being met however, this new administration is top notch. The principal and vice-principal work as a team and I rarely see them sitting down. They have no problem with teaching a class if there is an absence. Yes, Norup is THE best!

Great community, great teachers, great kids. IB program is outstanding. Inquiry based learning curriculum, Global focus. Very impressed with how much every staff person truly cares about the kids. Many dedicated teachers!! Some inconsistancy with leadership, but hopefully that will even out with the new administrative team. Very satisfied parents, very happy kids!! It's innovative in that it is one of very few, nationwide, IB elementary schools. Dedicated and committed teachers and administrators.

I just want to make sure people are aware that the low rating here generally comes from the lower grades. The middle school is performing extremely well. the IB program is outstanding. I wish that K - 5 and 6 - 8 could be separated for this rating purpose. The middle school program is really very good.

My son transfered from Ludington Magnet Middle School in Detroit, which is a great school but was too far to continue to travel so I started my search for school with simular ratings and Norup was that school and i like Norup it's diversity is great and I think the teachers have been great so far, I like this school thumbs up Norup

Maybe I just had high expectations but this school seems mediocre at best to me. I was expecting a much higher level of education and teacher involvement. The school seems well run and some teachers are fantastic but there are quite a few things that teachers let slide and discipline seems to be a problem. Not impressed.

I go to norup for 2 years now and the people there are very very very very very nice. The teachers are very helpful when students need help. The only thing left is it is a great school

Wow, I'm so sorry the young man that attended Norup had a bad experience. Every parent that I have encountered expressed their child had great success! I also think Norup is a great school and I can only praise the school and staff. Thanks Norup, you're doing a great job!

I was deeply disappointed in the education my son received in middle school. Anachronistically, writing was not stressed as heavily as handwriting. I think this district is relying on a reputation that they no longer deserve.

I have attended norup school since the fourth grade and I will be continuing my stay at Norup as an eight grader for 2006- 2007 school year. I believe that this school is the best school I have been in. It is safe, fun, and there are many people to meet. This is a excellent learning environment. I appreciate the staff and all the other students that go here.

The academic program at Norup provide high expectations for all students. Parents are involved through various activities in the school. The teachers provide personal and academic support to their students and will always find the time to help them.

I have had three children go thru this school. It is a great school with caring individuals and caring staff members. It is the type of district we had when we were growing up.There is a 0%tollerance policy which is what kids today need. A neighborhood school.Easy to talk to staff and easy to talk to administrators!
