The Michigan Avenue Academy is not like any other high school--in a great way! The staff members are all very friendly and supportive. The school has many extra activities which encourage the students to work together and have fun together. The school promotes and maintains a family-oriented and safe environment. Teachers at the Academy offer many different options for your student to succeed. They want nothing but the best for your child and they will go above and beyond to make sure your child gets a quality education.

I am very glad that I attended Michigan Avenue Academy. The teachers and staff were always very supportive and friendly. They work with students to make sure you are excelling whether your grade is poor or above average. Michigan Avenue Academy offers a wide variety of opportunities for you to get your diploma and advance onto your career or college goals.

Michigan Avenue Academy offers many support services to students including small classes, individualized instruction, counseling and college preparation services. Their mission is to "change the publics view on alternative education". You might occasionally come across a student who wants to push your buttons, but they are always dealt with by the administration. Michigan Avenue Academy offers students varied opportunities to gain knowledge through experience. They have many fun activities and parties to praise students and celebrate. If you are considering a switch from a traditional high school, consider Michigan Avenue Academy! After all- Alternative Education has changed much more over the years then it ever has.

I am a parent of 2 sons who completed their education at Michigan Avenue Academy. I can't tell you how happy and proud I am of having this school in our District! The Principal, counselors and teachers are truly interested, working at times,one on one, with the parents/students on their academic and social interactions both in school and in their life outside of school! The teachers will do everything in their power to see that the kids have the support, time, and resources to make themselves a success. They build self esteem in the students, and work on building the students strengths, in their desires of becoming whatever their dreams desire to be, the sky is the limit. I would advise parents/students having any problems in a normal school setting to visit MAA, the difference is clear from the first visit.

Michigan Avenue Academy is a great school. Many think of an alternative school as a much easier way out. Alternative schools are just nontraditional. M.A.A. is doing a great thing! The teachers are very supportive and always putting the students first. Thank you Paw Paw Public Schools for this great alternative!
