I think Pinckney Schools are great. I have 3 daughters, one in elementary, one in Junior High and another at the high school. I feel the elementary does a great job engaging the kids in learning while addressing social issues (bullying, handling disagreements, other life skills) in their daily routine. The Junior High has a variety of offerings that appeal to the diverse population (varying levels of core classes to address different abilities, activities like Back Alley Players, Sports, Garage Band, elective courses like Forensic Science, School Store, Band/Orchestra/Choir). The High School offers opportunities, again for different types of interests and abilities, even with the newer, tougher graduations requirements. There are quality vocational programs, AP classes, New Tech High, variety of electives that are fun and interesting. The sports programs offer something for most kids, with programs bringing home state championships/consistent top five finishes (Cross Country/Track) without cuts, competing in Division I with top teams with larger populations to draw from. I grew up in Ann Arbor, and I don t feel that Pinckney Schools lacks in anything that I had growing up.

I have one child the graduated this year and one that is a freshman. This school has not impressed me with anything yet and I have two more kids still that are to go to the high school. The drugs are bad in the school and the teachers just go through the motions to get through the day and have no heart in teaching these kids. The administrative people demand respect from the parents and students but they don't give it. The atmosphere in this school is so bad that none of the kids can focus on actually trying to learn. I thought when I moved out here 8 years ago, that the schools would be great for my kids. I'm now thinking of driving them back to the city to go to a better school. Its really sad.

This school is amazing. All of the extracirricular activitys and sports were great after school things. I experianced the first year of the Freshmen Academy. It helped me out that way i wasnt shoved in the same hallways as the upper classmen.I like the idea of the Academy was the best choice they could have made.

We have been homeschooling our dauhter till this year she is a freshman at Pinckney and we are so thrilled so far. They were so helpful and understanding with our concerns for our daughter. We have 5 more children now that we most likely will put through Pinckney High!!!!!

I have been so unhappy with PCHS. I loved the school system until we got here. After many months of fighting to keep my son in we finally decided that he would never get an education from PCHS. It's too bad that the administrative staff doesn't treat kids like the young adults they expect them to be. If they gave the kids some respect they might get some back. On the other hand, the teaching staff is very good.

I'm a student here and to be honest, the school isn't that bad once you get to know it. The sports are always iffy here. There's the Robotics, Auto's, and Architecture classes, those are sweet things to look into when attending Pinckney High if they're interested. There's a lot of things ahead for this school, and it is a great place to be.

My son and daughter attended Pinckney Schools from K-12 and are now finishing their undergraduate degrees at 2 of our biggest state universities. They have done extremely well and have felt very well prepared with the education they got in Pinckney. While not the best funded district, Pinckney has worked for years to provide more great options for its students in sports, the arts, AP classes, clubs, trips. The district has outstanding applied tech programs also. The majority of the staff is very dedicated, kid focused and uses creative ideas to engage students like an annual cardboard boat race in the math and science classes. My kids always say, 'This was a great place to grow up!', meaning the schools and the beautiful lakes in the area. They both talk about living here when they finish their college training. That says a lot about the schools!

As a graduate of Pinckney I can honestly say that some of these students reviews are totally wrong. I graduated in 2000, with a great education. Maybe if certain students think there are no opportunities in Pinckney High School, they should attend Detroit Public Schools. I think their views about where they are from will change.

PHS has a wonderful band program with over 10% of the student population involved. They have an active PTO and many chaperoned extracurricular activies including National Honor Society, Mock Trial, P.A.L.S, S.A.D.D. and Bible Study. The ACT II Theatre Group was invited to perform at the International Thespian Festival in 2005. The athletic program encourages participation from the student body. My daughter's experience at Pinckney High School has been a wonderful, memorable one. She has been accepted to every college she's applied.
