Plainwell High School is a great school with a great staff. Everybody works together to get the job done right for the students. My husband and I specifically moved to Plainwell because of the quality of education that our children receive. Go Trojans!

The school is great. All the teachers are supportive of the kids and that really helps them succeed. Both of my children come home happy and are actually excited to go to school. I would not send my kids to another school.

For years Plainwell has had a solid reputation as a solid if staid high school among others in SW Michigan. In recent years however it has really taken off, garnering consistently top scores among area schools in the Michigan Merit Exam (same as the ACT) - in the top 5 of 33 schools for all subjects and at the top for social studies. Since our kids have been in the high school (since 2002) they've move to a trimester system (first in SW Michigan), added a number of AP courses, have better extracurricular offerings, and have remodeled the high school. All in all a great place with a growing reputation for strong academics.

Academic programs are good and have improved over the years. They have an especially strong music program. Guidance counselors there are particularly helpful. They send a message to their students that education is important, and do an excellent job of communicating important information to students and parents.

My husband and I moved into the Plainwell district specifically for the good reputation. Our oldest son is a senior and we have been extremely pleased with the quality of his education. The music program is particularly strong, and seems to be only improving in size and quality each year. There is good support from the community which is essential for a successful school district. Our son has been happy with all of his instructors, and the education he has received has earned him a place in a prestigous private college for next year. We wouldn't want our children in any other school system.

I attended PHS a couple of years ago as an exchange student and was welcomed by everyone. The teachers were really helpful and if you pick the right classes you really learn a lot. You get the feeling that most of the students get along and enjoy going to school there. The improvements to the building and surroundings over the last years helped to make Plainwell an even nicer place to study.
