Although this school has been given many mispreceptions due to its location, I have never trusted or loved another school more. Mrs. Hernandez is the best principal that I have ever encountered. She would take a bullet for any one of her students and even lives in the area. The teachers work very hard for the students and with the students, I do believe this is because of the knowledge that they have of the homes that many students come from. Yes this school is located dead center of a bad zone but the school is always on lockdown, and the students do not fear for themselves, neither do the teachers. I have been a part of the school for 5 years now as a parent. When my step child moved to another district I refused to have him transferred to another school because I am proud of how well Woodrow Wilson has dealt with his ADHD and have encouraged him to keep on the right path. Woodrow Wilson is an excellent school and even their test scores are starting to show how hard they all have been working to get there. I am a proud parent of Woodrow Wilson Allstars!!!!!!

I went there from K-5 in the 60s, and my kids went there for K-5 in the 80s. It's one of the schools where I substitute teach these days, and I admire the upbeat, energetic, positive attitude of the principal, Mrs. Hernandez. She and the rest of the staff demand excellence from the students. The results may not show on mandated test scores, but having taught and subbed in other states (some with supposedly "better" education programs), I can vouch for the kids of Woodrow Wilson Elementary being on the ball when it comes to critical thinking skills and basic knowledge. In my mind, these kids are proof that the testing is flawed, not the kids, not the school, and not their education.

Woodrow wilson school is an excellent school mrs hernandez has done an excellent job with the students and the staff is very knowledgable on their teaching skills with the students. The kpals program is winderful. I have a child with adhd and i thought he was going to have a rough time in school but all the staff has worked with him and he is doing very well. I also enjoy the students they are very respectful, responsible and ready.

All in all, this school is only running because of the population. This school is not very good, low testing scores...and not to sound rude but it is in a bad area of Port Huron so waht do you expect. The administration in not very nice and if you are late picking up your child you are treated like dirt! They provide art, music, gym, technology, and health and safty. Parent involvment is very limited. You can not even vist the classroom to see how your child does in school. Unless they (teacher) needs your help with something.
