Summit Academy North Middle School

I am a student here and I wish I wasn't. The other kids avoid the people that they don't know and stay in a certain area where they talk to NO ONE BUT THEIR FRIENDS!!!! The classes are fine (if not too easy since I'm in all Honors Classes) I find the classes 1. too easy. 2. The teachers don't really try to talk to the student's. 3. If you don't have a laptop you're pretty much going to fail. I think if you are wanting to send your child here, DON'T! The school requires you to spend Alot of your hard earned money for things that aren't even necessary such as a Mac Book Laptop (which I find stupid) And the classes require you to buy SO MANY THINGS!!!!! Please, do not send your child here, you will regret it.

i was a studen at this school the onle thing good about this school is the middle school football coach mr. antea the expelled me beacouse a girl gave something bad and i through it away my name is ryan tucker and this school is mostly good for kids that need speacial edgacation tons of my stuff has been stolen from summit and they have a police offecer that does absolutly nothing i would not send my child here

We have a great laptop program that sets us apart from all the other schools!

If you are a parent looking in to Summit-middle- there are several reasons I would recommend it- a few why I would NOT... My daughter has been there two yrs now (6 and 7th gd) she has advanced technologically in a major way. Doing video/sound editing and powerpoint presentations, etc...I am extremely impressed and proud in this area! The school is smaller and more confined and a little structured with the dress code (which has increasingly slipped since she started there) but the one thing I'd like to warn parents about is the lack of supervision AFTER school. If you are planning to leave your child to go to the after school room or the Peak for after hours care, beware! Ive visited the school on several occasions where there are free to roam the halls and walk around outside. There are kids here, there and everywhere-please be aware...

Our daughter is in 7th grade at Summit North. She has been attending this school for two years. As a parent, I have enjoyed everything this school has to offer. Teachers are very challenging, motivating and understanding. Our daughter is in all honors classes, National Junior Honor Society and the Cheer team. After school activities offer a wide choice. School is very clean and offers a postivite atmosphere. Lap tops are a plus really advances the youngsters in the tech. world!!

I am a 7th grade honors student here at S.A.M.S I love it! We get the best education possible, honestly. I am learning things I would normally learn in 10th grade and its a breeze. The teachers connect with the students in a bonding way and its a more relaxed learning environment. I know many students have have given up on S.A.M.S because they say the work is too hard, they just didn't try hard enough. They have a strict staff but willing to cooperate. I will never leave Summit because I feel like I have the attention I need and the education I need. Plus they have Mac Book Laptops that we use all the time in class.

I am a student here, I have been going here since Kindergarten. Millions of things have changed but I love here i have never been to a different school. I am an all Honors 7th grade student. And I am so happy we have Mac Book Labtops they come in handy alot! The sport variety here is awesome too. But the thing I hate is that they do suspend or expel kids over minor and stupid things. But otherwise I like it.

I love my school. This is my last year in middle school and I am going to miss it here. It is so fun. My grades have went up since I got here. We even get our own laptops to take home. This has helped me tremendsly with my school work. I love this schoo!!!

I've been a student here for 3 years now and it's been awesome!! Though there are things that I don't like, such as Science Fair and the Speech Contest, it's still a good school. The laptops are great too! :D

Please reconsider sending your children to this Middle School. They have extremly poor communication with parents, the vice principal and principal are as clicky as the middle aged students that attend. They expel/suspend the brightest students over minor things and keep the others, there is a reason this school can't keep it's population to the max. If you never want to know what's going on with your child at school, and never want a phone call from them about anything that is going on pertaining to your child, then send them here. If you're a parent who is concerned about their bright and gifted child, send them elsewhere, this school puts on a huge front of excellence when in reality they are a very poor example of what educated adults should behave as.

This September will start my daughters 2nd year at SAMS...and we love it. I think that she recieves incredible one on one attention from her teachers, and they are more than willing to do whatever they can to help her if she needs it. Its sad to read reviews of parents who say that their child didn't recieve this, makes me wonder how much the parent was also involved in the childs education. Without a strong parent/student/teacher connection one will never succeed.

My son has attended for 2 years now and his grades have went up but...hes not at his grade level, he has been passed through math facts that he doesnt know and I dont see any assistance from the teachers to assist in this. they never updated the online info parents can use. I am going back to public and then private, my son strives to be the best and excel and he dont have the opportunity to excel or get passed his grade level in subjects that he excels in. I have also found them to be very unorganized in anything that goes on from event to the so called 15 min parent teacher conf.

Middle school is a huge disappointment. Don't leave feedback in the fall. Give it a few months so that you can see the real Summit Middle School. The principals are so controlling that they will not even listen to parents who have a concern. Also check out the middle school Meap scores compared to the elementary and high school. There is a reason why they are way lower. They have driven out all of their brighter and gifted students will ridiculous punishments for very minor offenses. The middle school never publishes their return student count because it is embarrassing it is so low.

The academic program and dedication of the teachers is a plus at this school for my son. He is doing well and gets plenty of support. My only problem with Summit is the lack of discipline when it comes to unruly students. In all fairness, this is more of a parenting issue than a school discipline issue. Nonetheless, I have personally witnessed students behaving horrendously in front of staff and little to nothing was done about it.

Exceptional learning environment. Great choices for the children. My daughter loves the projects! Teachers are fresh and full of engery, with wonderful suggestions. Big stress on dress code is a plus! Planners, where would the kids be without them? Can't say enough - I'll never leave.
