Keep in mind the Great Schools rating of 1 out of 10 does not reflect what actually goes on at this school. The majority of the students who attend here come from broken homes, abusive homes, and some have no home at all. Many come in unable to read or even do basic math. I attended Oceana for 2 years and graduated from there. I came in broken and homeless. The principal, at the time, saw value in me and connected me with a fantastic foster family (I was 17 at the time, technically and adult, he did not have to step in and help). If it were not for him and this school I'm not sure where I'd be now. The teachers and staff here take on a heavy task by investing their time and love into these students and they truly care about them. They encourage them and the teaching goes beyond academics, they teach them how to be better people. If not for this school most of those children would not graduate at all.
helps people graduate faster without any issues and dosen't have rules that make school complicated.
You would never think an alternative school could provide a quality education, but this school delivers. The staff is incredibly involved and the students are very accepting. I would be proud to have any of my kids attend OHS.
I went to this school years ago and i loved it soo much, at that school the teachers really care about you and where you end up!
My daughter attended Oceana Highschool and it was possibly the greatest thing in her life. The staff and environment the student is surrounded with allows them to learn and to grow. I had never seen her work so hard or care so much. The school provided her with all the tools and support to become and remain sucessful. I would recomend this God sent school to anyone that needs a positive change.
