Shrine provides an excellent education, and the children are also taught how to live out their Catholic Christian faith. This school is such a gift to our family. Our children are thriving and growing into well-educated, kind, Christian people, thanks to this wonderful school!

We have 3 kids now going here. My wife and I feel the teachers are very caring, we however don't recommend the pre-school, our youngest went into a shell after a few months and is just now starting to act like she did before going there, The academics are acceptable; my kids are on par with any other school in the area. The only bad part is the clickyness of many moms. It can be astonishing sometimes and it is sad to see adult women act the way they do. They want their kids to only play with their friends kids, which blatently leaves out other kids. Other women are desperate to fit in and you almost want to pity them. The behavior of these parents shows in their kids too, theres a no bulling policy but there is mental bulling and ostrsism between groups and certain kids. We wish the school would address this and provide counseling services. This should never happen at a catholic school and a disgrace that it does. You should also understand that the only way the school gets money is through tuition and donation. Keeping a school and church running is not cheap, it's something you should understand when your part of a parish community. To recap: really good school, very catty moms.

Very disappointing. Poor academics and pompous moms. Busy parents who work and unable to volunteer are excluded, so are their children. We had friends coming to one of the social events in school and they were appalled by the whole "stepford wives" atmosphere. Very poor history, math, literature education. School unable or unwilling to deal with problem kids who make so many other children miserable , probably because their parents have more children in Shrine schools, so they bring more money. I will never recommend this school to anyone. We will just try to forget what a horrible experience we had there.

I am shocked by the bad reviews on here, especially about the lack of parent involvement! I have become such good friends with many of the parents because of volunteering. As a home room mom, I never need to ask twice to get help from the parents! We also have great scores in math, reading and science! We are listed third in the entire area. It is obvious some of these reviewers had a bad experience with someone at the school and are judging the whole school based on that! It is a terrific family to belong to, that's what it is, a family!

My son had some real behavioral challenges this year in the classroom. All three teachers in his grade work tirelessly with him in such a POSITIVE way. The thoughtful emails I received from the teachers brought me to tears. I knew my child was in a place that he was loved and cared for. I couldn't be more pleased.

Does not welcome learning disabled kids. They are not trained to deal with it on any capacity. They hire who they know and it shows. No male teachers on staff, not diversified enough. If you are white, Irish, who wants to re-live your highschool days as a parent this is your school. Parent clubs clicky and dysfunctional and do not make any progress. As the other parent said they send out many emails on donations or outright asking for money in letters from the church. One insider says they spend money and it is done without thinking. How I wish the other school did not close.

We agree with the posts from the other parents. This school is lacking in many ways.Very disapointed. Parents involved and teach several hours after school because teachers slack and show movies in class. What are we paying for? Recess on hard surfaces once a day. Sent countless emails for money and donations.

The comments beginning with "Excellent" would dictate the same person. Staff is my guess; who esle would write such raving reviews unless it was one of those parents one of the other posts warn you about in that case the post then is correct. Mommymafia protecting their grounds. They have a high student count because schools closed in the area not because it was a choice.

I did not realize until we changed schools but Shrine is very far behind in math English reading even though they say they are a blue ribbon school. Also the school site for the children is way behind, needs to be updated. It's true there way or the highway. Teachers not helpful and they want to children to be robots with no problems. Very disappointed.

Certainly for the tuition a more up to date computers program should be included. Not very flexible to a students needs. Their way or the highway.

We couldn't be happier with a school! Our kids love their teachers and the Principal is outstanding and sensitive to each child's needs. Our children have thrived academically and spirtually. FOr us, Shrine shines

Excellent curriculum and staff. Extremely active mothers' and dads' clubs. Parental involvement encouraged and expected, which occurs. Many after-school activities. We put four children through the school and have remained interested and active.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
