I've been subbing for this school for over 2 years along with subbing at other Royal Oak schools. I would say this school is the most disorganized. They change the sub assignments last minute often to the classrooms with no sub plans. A lot of accidents with special ed class which are not sufficiently staffed and so pull on other staff such as PE teachers to handle crisis situations which lead to schedule conflicts/stress/confusion.
Keller's teachers are dedicated and approachable. The school allows and encourages parent involvement that fosters a connection to your child's education. The IB curriculum teaches diversity and promotes analytical thinking, which will benefit the students for years to come.
The Keller curriculum, using the IB Learner Profile, has been a terrific way for the kids to learn how to be: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective. Thus developing honesty, integrity and fairness in the student body since the IB learner profiles are instilled in units of study.
Keller has amazing staff that stays on top of the most current ways to appropriately and effectively teach children. They are qualified in teaching academics and character building and all kids get a well rounded experience and support. Keller also offers a great sense of community and connection.
