This school is such a joke. I went to school here and I think i learned more when I was in grade school in Battle Creek than I did in high school at Climax.
the information on this school is a little outdated in that it contains Y5-5th grade. The instructional and support staff are super and are more than happy to keep you informed all year, not just at conference time. It is a small school district with small class sizes which leads to lots of 1:1 interaction between teachers and students. The principal is very approachable and knows every student by name and probobly all of the parents as well from what I can tell. Every teacher cares about every student, not just their own class. Parent envolvement is highly encouraged and greatly appreciated. If we ever move, it will be to another home within the school district.
I have nothing but good things to say about C-S Elementary School! My daughter is a kindergartner there and is having trouble making the adjustment to going to school all day. The principal Mrs. Lee and everyone else there are helping to make the transition a positive one. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We obtained a release from the larger local school district for our daughter to attend C-S schools, and we are so glad we were able to do so. The quality of the academic programs seems to be very high and parental involvement seems to be good and welcome in the district. My daughter has music and gym two days per week each.
My daughter is in kindergarten in Climax. Not only is the class size perfect (13 kids) but she always gets personal attention and is learning at a rate I didn't think was possible. She NEVER says she doesn't want to go to school and has not had one bully incident and very few bad words heard. The kids and teachers all seem to be polite and kind. I could not be happier with this school. We're thinking about looking for some land to build on but we've both decided that it HAS to be in Climax township so we don't leave the school system. I LOVE CLIMAX! Small town america at it's best!
My daughter attends Climax-Scotts Elementary and we could not be happier. The instruction that she has been given is outstanding. In fact, I have not come across a 'bad' teacher yet. Everyone is friendly, caring and most of concerned about the well being of the students. The principal is outstanding. She knows almost all students by their first name and goes out of her way to show each child how much she cares! I would postively recommend this Elementary School. It may be 'out of the way' but it is definetly worth the drive!
