This is the best High School in this area. I personally attend here and since I have been attending my level of education has increases dramatically. It has a number of extracirricular activities that are very involved in the community. The athletic programs excede standards in every. Both the teachers and the coaches care about there students and what they learn both in and out of the classroom. They would give up all the time in the world for a student that is wanting to learn more and strive to succede. The coaches not only care about winning but the way the team works as one on or off the filed. I would highly recomend this school.

Shelby is your average small country town school. It is in no way an unsafe school. The level of education is average. I learned the most in athletics. Shelby has a great basketball coach who thought me alot more about life than basketball

I do not think that Shelby High School is the best place to send your children. The teachers could care less if you understand the material or not. In this school the teachers come first and then its the students.

Shelby ain't bad played in the band for 8 years, the band directors past and present do an excellent job of helping the students understand music and have a good time. The band gave me an opportunity to go places that other classes didn't let me and I gained a sense of family within the band, a great experience for any child. Had a great time. The sports programs here teach those that participate alot about themselves. Pete is the greatest teacher ever, the best chemistry teacher ever. All of the teachers do a good job of helping the students understand.

Shelby High School does an excellent job of creating a positive atmosphere for all students. Their teachers truly care about the students and go above and beyond to help them succeed. The extra activities offered are amazing. The band, though small, has earned many first division ratings; the choirs perform at least 3 times per year. The drama program is phenomenal -- especially for a school as small as Shelby. You will not be disappointed if you send your children to Shelby.
