I feel very restricted learning. I scored VERY higly in all my standardized testing for Language Arts yet I'm still with students who can't even write an essay. Also, I was bullied numerous times by the same person. I told the counsiler yet nothing happened.
I do not like Flynn at all!! Bullying is frowned upon and "taken very seriously", apparently. I have been bullied numerous times and not once was it resolved. I transferred after 6th grade IMMEDIATELY . The school is only disciplined when property is damaged or a student disrespects a teacher! I am HIGHLY advanced at English, yet I was placed into a class with other children whom could hardly speak English! These kids read at a 4th grade level while I was reading and comprehending college material! Absurd! A horrible school. The scores were horrible and NO ONE speaks English. If you are not "Chaldean" you are frowned upon, looked down on, and harassed. The teachers are okay, but they cut too much slack on the children. Sports are not offered until grade 7. Lunch is disgusting and overpriced. Peers are cruel. I rate this school a 1.
we just moved to the area and my boys never been bullied by anyone like in past schools, and also they are doing good and seem to like it alot better and also there is no book deposit u have to come up with. Also it has the best band ever way to go
Flynn's cultural diversity provides each child with a special experience of understanding and tolerance.
I love my school very much, I think it is a good school, with very supportive teachers who push us. Even if we think we can't do something they will help us and tell us we can! I love Flynn with all my heart the fun, loving, caring, teachers as well as students if you want your child to enjoy their school and do well send them to Flynn -sinceraly a loving student of flynn
My child tells me that Flynn is a better then Grissom because last year she went to Grissom. She said Grissom has less discipline.
My two children are attending Flynn and I am very pleased with the principal and staff. They seem to know the kids by name and are always willing to help with any subjects. There is tutoring after school if needed. Many extra after school activities also! My kids feel safe and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. My 8th grader is very ready for high school.
My daughters have attended Flynn for the past three years, leaving this year will be bittersweet, looking forward to high school but we have enjoyed the warm and caring teachers and staff. The sport program and coaches are excellent. The principal is involved and knows not only students by name but makes the effort to know their families too. Bring my children from a private school, I was leary of 'public' education, but have been very pleased with this school.
