I love that I feel that my feedback is welcomed and appreciated. The school has great academics and teachers who love their job and do it excellently. They have a outstanding music program most of the children play a instrument and excel in it.
I would highly recommend Bethany Christian School. The teachers & staff work hard to ensure the needs of the students are met not only academically but spiritually as well. We have appreciated the top-notch education that our children have received but the experience did not end there. The pastoral staff, teachers, & other staff members truly have a desire to see each child grow spiritually. The evidence of this desire has been proven in many ways while our children have attended there & we will be forever grateful for the influence in their lives. The sports program is another reason we chose to put our children at Bethany. They offer programs for both boys & girls from elementary to high school. The coaching staff is very dedicated & works hard to offer a quality program. They work hard not only during the sports season but during the summer as well. They offer summer camps that are very beneficial & well organized. The athletic director at Bethany does a great job with the organizing & scheduling of practices & games throughout the year. Our children were very involved in many of the sports & will tell you they were privileged to have been a part of such an excellent program.
I swore I would never send my kids to this school! Having said that. My kids do attend Bethany Christian! It has been an experience I wouldn't change. Is the school perfect, No! No school is. Bethany has tried to help encourage each of my children to excel in every area of their lives. The teachers work VERY hard and put the students first. My kids love being at Bethany... The best way to feel apart of Bethany is to get involved.. There are so many ways parents can this! Boosters is a great way to get involved. We love our school and are excited about the improvements that area dr each year to make it better
Bethany Christian is an excellent school that provides a God centered environment where our children have the opportunity grow academically, spiritually, and in fine arts. The faculty not only teaches, but has a true heart of ministry towards the students. The school continues to improve each year and we are grateful for the great environment that our children can participate in.
What a blessing this school/ministry has had on the lives of our family. We were looking for a conservative, Christian school that placed emphasis on the Bible, but also on academics and fine arts. We are so pleased with the choice to send our children to this fine establishment. We have felt welcomed from the moment we had our first walk-through. The parents and staff have been so friendly and there have been coordinated efforts/events with the parents in our children's grades to connect in private groups on Facebook for encouragement and support. Our son who is in kindergarten this year has physical needs that require multiple surgeries yearly, which is very stressful. The faculty and staff have truly given 100% in learning how to handle any needs that may arise with his care and have lifted us up in prayer at every opportunity. They have worked closely with the public school system for speech therapy and have made each encounter a pleasure. We love the smaller class sizes and the families that are traveling on this journey with us. Certainly every family has to determine what school is best for their needs, but we couldn't imagine our children being anywhere but at BCS!
Our 3 elementary-aged children transferred to Bethany Christian School in the fall of 2010. Our family attends a nearby church, and so we were concerned about our kids making friends with students who had been well established. However, we found that the teachers and the students were extremely welcoming. Our children have made good friends, and are enjoying this school very much. The academics are exactly what our children need in order to excel in learning. The fine arts are second to none. We have seen a vast improvement in our children's musical ability, which we attribute in large part to BCS. The one feature that drew us to this school more than any other was the emphasis that the school puts on the Bible. BCS is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Troy, and the school sees its role as training up believers in their faith, as they are taught academics from a Christian worldview. As parents, God has given us the responsibility to raise up our children in the way they should go, so that when they are older, they will not depart from that way (Proverbs 22:6). We take that responsibility very seriously, and that is why we happily recommend BCS to those who have the same goal.
Our children attended here for several years and had a difficult time. Looking back our first grader was absolutely not ready for their first grade program and should have been placed back in kindergarten. I feel the staff should have recognized this. Also we left several messages for the principal via email, voicemail, and with the school secretary and he never called us back. This was very disappointing. I believe we were treated differently because we did not have much money. My oldest received over 70 demerits for dress code violations. We tried very hard to abide by the dress standards but it seemed to never be good enough. If your child attends there from kindergarten and you are part of the church your child should do well. Academics are very strong.
Alternative methods of learning are not encouraged. The staff is extremely short sighted and concerned only with image. Most of teachers are not certified. If your child struggles with basic learning issues, be advised to not attend this school. Agree with the review, if you do not attend the church, staff is rude, cold and difficult to work with. My child was repeatedly called stupid in front of class, by one teacher who is still on staff. When confronted, was told my child is not 'Godly'. Could not possibly be the teaching technique was at fault. Would not recommend this school.
We have had our oldest daughter attending Bethany since she was in 8th grade and she is graduating this year. Our youngest daughter is in kindergarten. We have appreciated most of the teaching staff and credit our oldest daughters 29 on her ACT, and good grades to them. We have had a hard time feeling apart of the school community and since we do not attend the church that supports this school, there is also that distance placed between us and most of the other parents within the school. We will not be continuing with them with our youngest due to unfortunately the stance they are obsessed with to the dress code and certain teachers cold and rude conduct towards the kids.
I have had 5 children attend Bethany Christian. My oldest started in kindergarten in 1980 & my youngest just graduated. I would not put my children anywhere else. All the teachers care about all their students & teach all classes from God's perspective. They cannot get this education in a public school. Their principle is the school's biggest cheerleader & the students Love him. He is always coming up with inventive ideas to improve the school & increase school spirit. Bethany's level of educational excellence is unsurpassed.
