Absolutely the BEST!!! The teachers are caring and they ensure all the support needed for not just your student, but the family as well. They come up with great activities for the family to enjoy and even give great information on how the parent can be more involved. Furthermore, the atmosphere is safe and clean, and consistent in providing excellent care and communication between their news letters and emails and direct phone numbers. The staff gets to know you an your family. I have three children going to the same school and one more to start in the fall. I wish it were more schools like this!

I have two children who attend Westview and so far I have been satisfied. I feel, the teachers my children have had so far are very committed to my children and their learning. I am very involved in the school which does make it easier to have daily communications with them.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
