Macomb Christian staff tries to instill a loving and caring environment. I believe the Early Education Center (including latchkey) achieves this goal and my son felt that many staff members cared about him. Despite these positives, I am switching my son s school after 3 years of attending Macomb Christian. The school struggles with implementing disciplinary measures; resulting in out-of-control classroom environments that make learning difficult. Additionally, the school does not provide enough training and/or support for learning disabilities or ADHD. I also believe the small class sizes and limited opportunity for extra-curricular activities stifles social growth.

What's alarming to me and what sticks out the most about these reviews is that all the good ones were posted on the same day. Looks like someone is trying to boost ratings as opposed to giving an honest review of the school. I'll pass.

MCS is great! All of the teachers and staff that I've come into contact with are wonderful! I love that smaller class sizes are offered alongside amazing sports and extracurricular programs. Events that I've attended are top-rate! The teachers are devoted and knowledgeable. The students are conscientious, obedient and learned. The staff is caring and helpful. And the new superintendent is experienced, smart and fair. Most important of all, the love of Jesus shines through every person and program. We love MCS!

My niece and nephews have always attended Macomb Christian School so our family is very familiar with the high level of education they receive. The school is top notch in so many areas. The art teacher is so talented and gives the kids unique ways to express themselves and their artwork is awesome! All the teachers are involved in more than just their classrooms. They donate time and guidance after hours. The History teacher is such an amazing speaker. Would love to learn from someone who has such a love for life and people's stories. Always love to attend any and all performances or events the school hosts. So many participate and it is a wonder to me how they pull off what they do with so few students. Would really love to see this school be awarded and encouraged by winning this $5,000!

This has been a great school year at Macomb Christian! The new Superintendent has been such a blessing. She loves the school and its students and has made so many wonderful additions. We now have a Chef that prepares delicious and nutritious meals each day. We also have a school store that kids and parents can hang out in before and after school and purchase school spirit wear and treats. In addition to this we opened a resale shop called Hidden Treasures that helps support the school and is great for the community.

I am an aunt of children who attend this school, and through them have also met other children who attend, and have been to a few activities relating to the school. I can tell they are receiving a good education academically, and one that is building character and a promising future for them. I am impressed with the behavior of the children who attend, and the parents who devote their time and energy to help out and volunteer their time.

MCS has given me a great taste of what Christian education is all about. Being raised in public school, coming to MCS was a huge shift in my ideas. While it has been difficult as Athletic Director to try to make changes that will benefit the school and help move us forward, the community of people at MCS have been so supportive! It truly is one big family at MCS and my wife and I are so glad we decided to come here!

Macomb Christian is an awesome school. I have gone there since Kindergarten and will be graduating this year. In the fall I will be attending my first choice college on a full tuition paid scholarship. My experience here has prepared me for college and whatever the Lord has in store for my future with a solid Christian worldview.

Macomb Christian Schools is a premium Christian School in Warren Michigan. This school has wonderful teachers who care very much for children and come along side the child both academically and spiritually. Jesus Christ is The Lord of all at MCS. I highly recommend this school.

I am so thankful that my grandchildren attend MCS. I am impressed by the love and dedication from everyone involved with the school. My grandchildren are getting a wonderful education and have been involved in many extracurricular activities, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. There are so many opportunities for the students to learn and grow, not only academically but spiritually, and I have seen the growth first hand in my grandchildren's lives. There is always something to get involved in, from the beautiful Christmas concerts, book fair, spelling bee, music festival, math Olympics, celebration of the arts, educational trips, camp, family bowling and more. Every time I visit the school I am struck by the amazing art work on display. The new superintendent is doing an amazing job in rounding out and grounding the school. I praise God for MCS!!

At Macomb Christian Schools you will never feel like your child is just a number! Each child is given individual help and attention in every class. The teachers care not only about the academics of each child, but the whole person as well. Your child will be known by teachers who don t even have your student in their classes because they care that much. The character of the teachers is beyond exemplary. They will aide you in whatever your student needs help with. At MCS your student matters!

I have two sons that graduated from Macomb Christian. What we liked most about the school was that everything was handled with a biblical perspective. My boys had great relationships with their teachers. The class size is smaller so the teachers really knew my children.

Macomb Christian Schools has equipped hundreds of students throughout its history to successfully attend colleges and universities and pursue their goals. Many schools do this well enough. What sets MCS apart is the commitment to provide Christ-centered education that equips students to honor God through service and leadership. This goal resonates with our family and the desire we have to raise our daughter in a home that displays Christ. We are certain that the values we believe in are the same values taught at MCS. Do we do this perfectly or does the school do this perfectly? No, but we strive toward this goal by the strength and power of the Holy Spirit. We know the heart of the staff at MCS and believe this is their desire also. A private school education takes commitment by parents and students but it is well worth the effort.

Our son is completing his Senior year at Macomb Christian and we are so happy the Lord has enabled us to have him there for his entire education. We are so blessed to have teachers and administration that love the Lord and the students. The senior class is now preparing for their Senior Trip to Jamaica as a Missions Trip. They are so excited for this opportunity to serve the Lord in this way and for this to be their last days spent as a Senior class. What an awesome 13 years it has been for him and he is well prepared to go on to college and out into the world and share Christ. Thank you Macomb Christian School!

I'm so glad this is the school we have chosen for our kids. Our eldest child is in the Elementary program and really enjoys attending here. It is so nice for her to be able to attend a school with teachers who truly care about her growth not only in academics but spiritually as well. They help her reach her potential in every area. Our other child is in the preschool and also loves to attend school. She has grown leaps and bounds not only academically but also socially. Her teacher is great and really cares for her. I would definitely recommend MCS to others looking for a Christian school.

I am the person that posted back in February, and the only thing you did was clarify what I said, I never said that the comments were negative, I said that when someone posts something that you guys don't like, you become defensive. Like I said in my last post, everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's definitely not about going to the administrator with issues, it's about what I witnessed and experienced with my own eyes, and the behavior of a lot of the parents and children here at this particular school was not very Christian like at all. I've spoken with other parents whose children have been there for years, and they've since taken them out because of the same bad experiences that I encountered. It's not about going back and forth, this is a website for reviews, and opinions, I stated mine just like everyone else, and this just goes back to what I said before, everyone has a different experience and everyone has their own opinions, why am I continuously catching backlash, and negativity because of mine. You "Christian" parents will be in my continuous prayers. Be Blessed

To the person who posted Feb 7th I wonder did you attempt to meet with the administrator or the person or people who offended you? And your right, whenever someone posts a negative then others do come back and post a positive because that is how they feel Just like you. That is their opinion. Im sorry you had such a bad experience here but this school has been a life saver for many. No school is perfect because no people are perfect. I just want to make sure you went thru the proper channels to make amends.

The new admin of this school claims to make it a better Christian place but seems to just be making the student life and school worse. The Christian life does not seem to be shown my multiple teachers and staff. Very judge mental

My 10th grade daughter and 8th grade son have been through both Christian and public schools. The previous Christian school experience sadly was worse than the public. So now I must say what is important to anyone who is looking for "the right" Christian school. MCS because of its staff, parents, and students have been what I have wanted for my kids since the beginning. Not big in size, but big in education, attention, and most important, spirit. Through years of working with kids, teens, and adults I can spot a phony a mile away. MCS's teachers and administrators are far from phony. The attention and care shown to my son has been humbling to me. This school is going in the right direction and I would recommend it your child and family.

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
