Willow Run High School

This school has a great community behind it and the kids and teachers work very well together. The sports are not the best but they are getting up there I would really recommend sending your kids to Willow Run.

Willow Run Community Schools are great! And Willow Run made a wrong desicion when they chose to shut down Kettering Elementary. That school has great exellence and it's hard to see them go.

This school is the worst school I've ever been too. The kids there are horrible and meany of them are mean and un-caring. The teachers take little or no intrest in you. They demote teachers that are/were needed. Mr. Hall was an excellent teacher. He teaches well and about things that matter. Mr. Canty, Mr. Sanders, and Ms. Lambert are also good teachers. Danny England, the jantor, deseves to be a security Gaurd. He's aswome and is very kind.

Willow Run is an excellent school with excellent teachers and awesome coaches who care about the whole student becoming a responsible adult. I just wish parents would become more involved in their children's lives and take a proactive approach in communicating with the teachers and staff. Everytime I contact a teacher the call and/or email is always returned which ensures good communication between myself and my child's teacher. By keeping in communication with your child's teachers ensures your child can't 'pull' one over on you.

Willow Run has some great teachers who really care about the students and are working hard to make the school a great place to learn. The staff is striving to meet the needs of each of their students, and they are working with students, parents, and the community to do this.

I graduated from Willow Run in 2004. Like others have said it is really what you make of it. There are AP classes to challange students as well as honors classes. there are many extracurricular activities to take part in and enjoy. The students have to want the education themselves and learn what teachers will be of most help when it comes to their future. Yeah some classes are easy and you don't have a lot of homework, but some classes are hard and you have lots of homework. I graduated in the top 10 of my class with a 3.7 GPA. Overall its a great school, I loved it. If I had the choice to pick another school, I would still pick Willow Run. I am now in college and I feel as if I was defintely prepared. - Elessa

I am a student attending willow run high school and I believe willow run is a great place to go to school. It's a tight family type of setting so you're not afraid to go to school everyday, kids aren't afraid to ask questions in class, and most kids are getting great grades... so to let those other people know please don't judge our school if you don't attend,Thank you

Both my brother and I graduated from Willow Run Schools (1995/2001); I'll tell you that the old reputation is no longer standing. Willow Run High School got a bad reputation in the late 1970's and early 1980's for violence and poor race relations. Almost none of that is still there. While I was attending the high school there were no more than 3 fights a year, mostly involving freshman. The only leftovers from its past race problems are the teachers that were students then and came back to teach. The only things Willow Run is lacking are a variety of classes, the school is just too small, Parent Involvement, and some extracurricular activities, they have Hockey but not Soccer. So I encourage you to go up to the school, talk to the teachers, they WILL be honest with you about what the school has and needs. They Are Amazing.

Willow Run high school is a postitive place for kids. I am a student there, and teachers do give long research papers thank you very much, and we are getting new math classes that are AP and more advanced math classes. With the new leadership that is comming into Willow Run High, I think that Willow Run high school test scores will come up. And even though everyone is titled to their own opinion, if you are not a student at the high school now, then don't judge us, bcause Willow Run is the best place for a student to get their education.

I graduated from Willow Run High School in 1990. My graduating class was the first to go all the way through the new high. I love the Willow Run Community School District;, however I wish that more emphasis was placed upon me to go to college. I do not remember anyone pushing me to apply for college or even take the SAT's. I rarely had any homework and it was all very easy when I did. I learned more in Junior High than did in high school. I know that I should not blame the school completely, because good parenting is also a big part in whether or not a student will go to college. The school should still be a great resource to encourage students and their parents to pursue a higher education.

Three of my children have graduated from Willow Run High School and one is currently a senior there. I believe the school provides an excellent education to students who take their classes and education seriously. Not enough students take the College Prep classes and/or the AP classes. For the most part, they are not challenging enough, have very little homework and do not prepare kids for work they will need to do in college. I would like to see more emphasis on college prep and more encouragement started in the elementary level to encourage these kids to go to college or at least give it a try. I'm not sure kids are adequately prepared to do the long research papers required in college nor is there enough math emphasis in the district. That said, I believe the high school has some great, very committed teachers who enjoy working with the kids and seeing them grow. I think there could be more more parental support and community support. The school is really what the student makes of it.
