They were nurturing and caring to my child.
Cheney Academy is awesome! Each student must be involed in art, music and sports on each grade level.
I am a firm believer in the public school system and Cheney Academy has given my children a wonderful start on their education. The teachers are competent and caring. The principal maintains a level of calmness and the attitudes of all are so positive. It's a wonderful community and my children are safe, loved, and focused on learning.
I'm so glad another parent told me of this website. Cheney does not get the credit it deserves. There isn't another elementary building in Washtenaw County that does it any better than Cheney Academy! My children are thriving both academically and socially with a principal who takes time to eat lunch with them, do school projects with them and have conversations with them. The teachers are the best around! They are intelligent and it is obvious that they care so much for their students. It's a wonderful feeling to know my children are safe, loved, and interested in learning while at school.
Cheney Academy is a wonderful public school! Actually I should say it is more like a little community, then a school. The teachers there care about every student, not only the ones in their class. The kindergarten program is one of the best! My child is reading and spelling and it's his first experience in school. I recommend this school to any parent who wants highly qualified and caring teachers.
I felt that cheney Academy was not a good choice school for my son. There was lack of communication between teacher/parent and principal/parent and I felt the teachers were not chalenging him enough because he would be bored in his class. But also those teachers can't control those kids and it was just to much my son did not even finish the year I trandfered him.
Cheney Academy of Math and Sciences a a great school to send your children! I was learning multiplication in 1st grade. I have attended Cheney for seven years until the new Willow Run Middle School was developed and CAMS became only K-5. My only problem with Cheney was how they moved the middle school students to WRMS. The teachers really care about the children's education and the school is very parent involved. I actually like the unioforms! CAMS students were well educated in my opinion and Cheney has won the Golden Apple award for the MEAP test scores. I am positive you and your children would enjoy CAMS. It'as a school that really cares about your child's education.
