My children both attended Chapelle. The foundation of this school are some of the most dedicated and caring teachers I have ever met. Both children were challenged and received the support and attention they needed to learn and achieve.

I think Chapelle is an excellent school that strongly encourages parent's participation as well as an Outstanding he Greatly concerned about Each and Every student.

I wish my son could go to schools like Chappelle throughout his educational career. The teachers are dedicated and make learning fun for the students and the principal is a strong and gentle leader. Parents are made to feel welcome and confident that their children are in a safe environment.

I couldn't be happier with the education my daughter is getting at Chapelle Community School. Just walking in the school you are immediately impressed. It is quiet, clean and everyone say's 'Hi! or 'Good Morning.' The principal has set a tone of acceptance, tolerance and involvement. Parents are required to volunteer a small amount of time to the school every year. The communication between the school and home is fantastic. The teachers are very dedicated and seem to work well together as a group. My daughter's teacher is the epitome of patience and really seems to care about all her students.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 Michigan used the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in math, reading and writing; in grades 5 and 8 in science; and in grades 6 and 9 in social studies. The MEAP is a standards-based test, which measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Michigan. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the Michigan State Board of Education implemented new definitions of what it means to be proficient on the MEAP test. The new standards for proficiency are higher than in previous years and the percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.
