Absolutely the best school in the area! Our child flourished here and was totally prepared for high school, and still loves going back to visit as a proud alumni of HVCS! An involved principal, great support staff, & teachers that care for each students success is what makes HVCS truly a leader in Christian education! To us, having our child learn in this wonderful environment was worth the long daily drive to attend HVCS!

We are so blessed to have found this school for our daughter. It is an amazing school with wonderful teachers, staff and family's. We live in Canton in Central Park and the school is 10 minuets away. We take Geddes turn left on Prospect and it is just one mile down pass Clark on the left hand side. Anyone who is looking for a Catholic school for Pre-K - 8th grade should come and see what makes this school so special.

We are so blessed to have our kids attend HVCS! The Principal is wonderful as are the teachers. I will miss this school when my 5 have graduated. My kids have learned so much about their faith here & the teachers have been wonderful role models for the kids.

Huron Valley Catholic School was the best decision we could have made for our two children. We're just sorry that we didn't start them there in kindergarten. We had sent our children to another catholic school and after 4 years realized that we were not getting the religious education which had hoped for. We prayed for help (it's so difficult trying to do the best for your children) and the Good Lord connected us with HVCS! By the way... our children are both in the High School Honors Program, so HVCS challenged them academically as well! Bernard and Lori G,

Our 3 children have attended HVCS since 2000. They are all flourishing, both academically and spiritually. The staff dedication is second to none. The caring Christian environment, low teacher-to-student ratio and outstanding curriculum all add up to one outstanding school. If you're looking for a school where your child will thrive in all ways, check out HVCS.

I have four children enrolled at Huron Valley Catholic School. I have been very happy with the education and care that my children have received for the past 8 years. I am in the school several times each week to volunteer and am able to see students and teachers of every grade. In my experience this is a safe and Christian environment that leads to the successful education of our children.

Our experience with this school has been very, very negative overall. This school lacks professionalism and is truly not a Catholic school in the Catholic school tradition. This school is about who you know and where you go to church, it is not about being Catholic, following Christ or wanting a Catholic education. There are far too many things about this school that are ambiguous and relative. Bullying and teasing are rampant in this school. Certain members of the staff are also unprofessional, including such behavior as arriving at school late, when they are supposed to begin teaching at 8:00, yelling and sometimes, screaming at students. These behavior are all accepted by administraton at this school. In the past, this was an excellent school, but over the years, it has become more and more watered down academically. Students and staff are out of control at this school.

I am happy to be an involved parent in the public schools and now a part of HVCS. We are thrilled w/ the sense of community amongst the parents and the children! The teachers are truly invested and committed to a strong Christian/Catholic atmosphere and academics. I really like the size of the school, making class sizes much more appealing. I love the school and people there! I still have one child in the public schools as well, w/ special needs, which are better met there.

i am very picky about the schools my four children have attended. Huron valley is an outstanding choice: an amazing principal, an excellent curriculum and nurturing, dedicated teachers. You can't go wrong with this school. I'm only sorry it took so long to find it.

We have been very pleased with our educational experience at Huron Valley Catholic School. It has provided sound academics, leaving my older daughter well-prepared for the challenging curriculum offered at the private college-prep high school she now attends. It is wonderful to see the number of alumni that return to visit Huron Valley's teachers and classrooms on their days off from high school. It truly is an educational system based on establishing mutual respect and rapport between student and teacher. I believe that this personal relationship really motivates the student to excel. I would rate this school exceptional with outstanding educational and faith components. It is also an independent Catholic school, meaning it isn't associated with any one particular parish. It is parent governed and the parent board works closely with an experienced principal, whose character and strong sense of ethics are regularly evident in his decisions.

The academic program at HVCS is phenomenal. This is evident through high test scores and local private high school acceptance rates. The essential curriculum is traditional. Basic skills emphasized, with instruction given in grammar, phonics, spelling, math, traditional American history, geography, and use of the scientific method. Also important is the cultivation of study and organizational skills. We teach our students to become active, life-long learners, and give them the basis for essential skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and communication. We believe that students learn differently, thus, our teachers use many proven educational methods to teach students and meet objectives. The Christian atmosphere sets it apart from other schools. It is a smaller school which is what appeals to us - our children will get so much one on one attention over the years. Parental involvement is huge and quite welcomed. Student population draws from a diverse area including: Ann Arbor,

First of all, this school is Roman Catholic. This changed a few years ago from a general Christian based school to fully Roman Catholic. The principal runs the school based wholey on his faith. It is clear from the way issues are dealt with that our Catholic faith is central and very much in action. There is a true beauty in the spirit of the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
