Relocating to Broward County

I have two children who will be in middle school this year. We are relocating to Broward County from overseas. We have not bought or rented a home yet but we will be soon. We would like to find a house in a great school district. There are so many schools in Broward, it is a bit overwhelming. I would love to hear from folks in the area who have children in the school system. I have researched all that I can online! Thank you

Here's a great article to help get you started: http://www.greatschools.org/find-a-school/moving/3986-choosing-a-school-from-a-distance.gs

Check too with a real estate professional while you're here. They're the people with the knowledge on awesome communities and the amenities that families require.

You might also get more responses if you post this in the Miami community located here: http://www.greatschools.org/florida/miami/community.gs?content=1978

Good luck!

Coming from overseas you want to find a challenging school. For example, Montessori maybe the best bet. Magnet schools applications are closed. My son was in Germany, came here and was bored and ahead of students. Have your children tested for the "Gifted Program". Interview principals where you may consider. Good Luck!

Another great resource is email the school's PTA/PTSA President about school.
