applying to 3 magnet schools

It used to be that one could only apply to 1 magnet choice. Now that you can apply to 3, how does it work? if you get on the wait list for all 3, do you only have 12 waiting list points for next year? It says in the brochure the priority points are only used for the 1st choice. what does that mean?

But here's the answer. You are only getting points for the FIRST choice. If you don't get in, you will get four wait list points NEXT year. The other two choices will place you at the END of their wait lists--after the people with literally no points who applied to that school first. Essentially, very few magnets fully exhaust their wait lists, so the second and third choices are 'feel good' picks, that will not change much.
But do NOT use the second and third place choice if you really only want the first one. If you get in, you will lose your points if you turn it down.81089
