The reading scores have dropped and math scores have yet to be posted. With that being said - the main concern with this school is that there are great teachers and there are teachers who are way past their teaching days! If you get lucky and get a great teacher - you will have an amazing year! If you are not so lucky - it will be a long year with a lot of yelling (there are many teachers who do this)! In middle school parents cannot request teachers like in elementary school. It's a scheduling system and more of a lottery than anything. This is a safe school with great principal leadership. The school is well maintained and parents are always invited to volunteer. Unfortunately, there are a few bad teachers who are ruining this schools amazing potential. The only other negative we have seen here is that there is a lot of theft. Lockers are "kick open" - literally all you have to do is kick the bottom of a "locked" locker and what's there is yours for the taking. It has gotten to the point that our child cannot even bring a hat to school without it being stolen.

I don't know what that last parent is talking about because I looked at the scores and they are actually going up.

As a grandparent of a 7th grader, I want to say how pleased I am with your band program. Your band teacher Mr. Bliesse does a tremendous job teaching these students to play music. We attended our 3rd band concert last evening, and it is so great to hear how these students have progressed in their music ability. It is readily apparent that he has their respect, and he respects them as well. We will look forward to more concerts in the future. You folks are doing a great job!

I have had 2 of my older children attend Andover Elementary, one of which is in Andover High and one in Oak View Middle now. These 2 have attended other elementary schools before and I have to say that this school is the most fun, caring and all around involved. I am excited that I have a child entering Kindergarten this year and look forward to volunteering again in this school. My daughter is very excited and already loves her teacher. Thank you!

This is a very caring school by the teachers and a wonderful family neighborhood. They do school things with parents careers in mind and have options for working parents. Very flexible.
