Minnesota Renaissance School offers students and families an incredible educational and community experience. I highly reccomend the school based on our experience from 2002 to 2014.
Our two sons started in Children's House and progressed through E1 and E2 and middle school.
They learned so many valuable skills in addition to the usual subjects-English, Math, Science and World history. They learned to ask questions so they could understand; they did not simply memorize math facts and words.
They practiced math using objects like beads and blocks...starting in first grade! Learning by doing lessons using their hands meant they had fun while learning. I still remember the day both kids got their first workbook in E1.
The staff and teachers treat children with respect and I always felt our kids were in a safe and caring environment.
While this is a private school, the tuition is a great value compared to other private schools. We feel our children's eduction is an investment in them and it is worth every dollar.
The school community offers many options for fun, such as Parents Night Out, book fair and FunFest.
Because of the education our kids received at Minnesota Renaissance School, both boys are at or above grade level in high school. They both agree that doing work using manipulatives like beads and blocks opened their minds, because the brain remembers by doing repetitions.
The Practical Life work, discipline and etiquette skills they learned during school have carried to their daily lives even as teenagers.
If you are looking for a unique education for your child, based on the proven Montessori method, this is your school.
I have two kids that attend Minnesota Renaissance School in Anoka. The teachers at this school are amazing! They help students learn at an individualized pace that makes learning fun and focused for each student. They can teach high level concepts in math and language in a way the students can understand. My daughter is doing geometry and algebra with ease and having fun while learning it! The best thing about this school is that it promotes a love of learning and challenging yourself. I highly recommend checking out the Montessori method of teaching!
We love this school for our daughter! She has been attending since she was 18 months and is now almost 5. She is proud of the work she does at school and we love the family-like environment. There is so much respect between students and the older students really care and like to be at school with the little ones. This is a wonderful school and I am so glad our daughter has the opportunity to go there. Tuition is over 6,000/year, but they accept monthly payments, which makes it affordable.
Great supportive environment, but $6000 a year, limited buses, limited lunches, and limited size- my kid had to wait a year for a spot to open! Great school if you are well off, close, and plan well ahead- they cannot serve everyone or anyone.
LOVE this school! We have had our kids in several school due to moving for work, and they were mostly private schools, but this has been the best education so far! Montessori preschool especially is excellent and lets our son learn at his own pace, which was slow at first, but now he is really doing well. If you are considering private vs. public, do your student a favor and invest in the best education you possibly can, at least for the first few years. It really does make a difference in how they feel about school later in life.
A fabulously caring school. The children are allowed to follow their passion while guided through a curriculum that helps them to fulfill their potential. The school has been renovated this summer and has many returning faculty (most of whom have Master's Degrees or higher). I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at this school and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone else.
