Mounds view was a great school, very helpful when ever you asked for it. All schools are based on points that's how you build a GPA. My teachers helped me with whatever I struggled on. For most classes grades weren't just handed to you, if it was something you wanted you had to work for it. They have a great career center, and advising counselors. My time at Mounds view has made my college career a breeze it has had wonderful building blocks for my life. my advise is ask for help when you need it, put the extra work in to the more difficult class, and talk to the teachers.

These negative reviews are clearly from parents that have unmotivated students. As a freshmen in a high-ranking engineering college and a MVHS alumni, I can say that Mounds View has put me miles ahead of my peers of my current college peers. Mounds View may be difficult because the teachers aren't easy to contact and good grades are hard to come by. But what does this sound similar to? College. These teachers are here to teach you how to learn opposed what to learn and that is much more pivotal than spoon feeding facts to students. Overall, I couldn't have been more happy that I went to this school. Go Mustangs!

My daughter hates getting up in the morning to face this school. She's very intelligent but this school is all about POINTS. They make them memorize these definitions and don't even teach them the material. She tells me everyday she wishes she went to a different school, I wish we would have switched her when she said this as a freshman- she's now a senior and still says the same thing, but now just wants to get through it so she can find a college that IS MUCH BETTER. I've seen the principal once in the 8 years my two kids have been going to school here.

Poor in Science teaching and curriculum. Students got discouraged in science field. The school is overrated.

I find it hard to like the school climate or many distant teachers. I have a 2e student: tests at the top of the class nationally, has learning issues (504), and is failing 3 or 6 courses this semester. I have never been contacted by teachers about the failing grades. I know all this by digging around, I check the portal regularly, wishing the scores were updated more frequently, to find out if homework is being handed in and guess at why the testing scores are so poor. It's unfortunate that MVHS treats only the easy high flyers as valuable students. Not every smart kid can teach themselves. Offering AP/Honors classes must come with intelligent teaching and support--it is supposed to be a LEARNING environment, not merely a showcase, there is a whole spectrum of students and ALL deserve FAPE, many at MV don't get it.

I have heard very positive things from my daughter and this school is excellent because I think that it helps the students prepare for college and the teachers are very helpful in advices.

This is an excellent school. I think this gets the students ready for college, because they have college like teaching skills. This is one of the best schools.
