I graduated from Brainerd in 2009 and I now attend Concordia College. I miss the Brainerd Area and the Brainerd High school. The students and staff were great, I learned alot but it was still such a laid back atmosphere. I am going into Biology Secondary Education and I hope I can find a School as great as Brainerd to teach at.

I have 2 grandsons attending, and I feel they are getting a good education, and have opportunities for other activities also.

I attended BHS and feel I received a great education. The number of honors and Advanced Placement courses give students of every level the opportunity to be challenged and the ability to choose courses of individual interest. The athletic programs are fantastic, and the administration makes an effort to know students on a first-name basis. I feel fortunate to have attended such a great high school, and the variety of courses provided my husband and I, who have very different academic backgrounds, the foundations for future success. We will move back to Brainerd someday so our children can have the same academic experiences we did.

this school is very restricted for resources available for students to use to complete assignments. It is terribly overcrowded and doesnt offer students alternatives for the mandatory classes. This causes students who struggle in certain areas to miss their graduation date because they might need a math class they didnt pass and didnt get a second chance at it. If you have a student who doesnt learn in the traditional school setting they will not graduate. The transportation isnt good for rural kids. They miss out on breakfast and extra cirriculum activities. The school wastes alot of money on unnessicary staff and they dont do anything about truancy problems. Teachers and staff complain at the kids about money problem and how under paid they are. The school doesnt respond to fights between students or bullies.
