The technology department is getting more advanced. The teachers are all great. The staff are wonderful and get to know every child. I'm always surprised when I go in that they know me and my child by name. The administration/staff are very helpful and always make themselves available.
All 3 of my children have gone through or are currently enrolled at Palmer Lake. Everyone from the admin staff, to teachers, to para's work very hard to ensure that children come first. The school is starting to incorporate science and technology heavier than years before which is great! The school is also great about keeping parents up to date with school functions and activities.
This is a "hidden gem" of a school and we've had nothing but great experiences.
Palmer Lake is evolving into a science and technology focused school, grades Pre-K through 5. In 2016, the school is embracing student-centered instruction, learning-studio responsive classrooms, a dedicated science lab and science teacher, a dedicated technology lab and teacher, an expanded music program with music lab and more new methods being implemented. Free breakfast for all students, excellence in physical education, computer lab as a normal part of instruction and support for gifted students. Palmer Lake is a neighborhood school looking to the future for students, making this a great place for kids to learn and grow.
I can't say enough great things about Palmer Lake. They have the greatest teachers and Kidstop program (after school care) that there is. My 34 & 33-yr-old kids went there. Many years later my 19-yr-old went there and had many of the same teachers throughout the years. Many of them are still teaching there today. That is dedication! The education Palmer Lake gives is wonderful. Their caring and nurturing of the students is exemplary. When my youngest was in 3rd grade, his dad had heart bypass surgery in May and I had brain aneurysm surgery in June. I can't begin to describe the care and concern everyone there gave to all of us. It was greatly appreciated. The bond my son formed with them lasts to this day. He would often go back to vist them throughout his junior and senior high years. Even though he graduated last year, he still returns to visit. The staff at this school cares for the students, and the family, mind, body and soul. I only wish my grandchildren were in this chool district. I would have loved for them to also be able go to Palmer Lake and get such a great start in life and learning.
