This school has had a great impact on our local area. Great families, great administration, a push for technology which I feel is a strong way students learn (not for everyone but certainly nice to see different styles of learning). I have seen lots of parent involvement with volunteering, after school events and the kids have smiles which tells me they are happy to be there and happy to have teachers and staff that care for them. This is hard to find these days.
We just moved into the area and this is the local school so my son started attending this fall. We have been just astounded at how poor a school this is. The academics are really weak and in my son's classroom anyways the learning is very hands-off, lots of sitting in a group listening to the teacher talk or watching her do stuff on the smart board (what a waste of tax dollars!). The hands-on stuff they do is alot of cut and paste worksheets. The icing on the cake is that they just put advertisements all over the lockers and hallways so businesses can advertise to the students at school. It's really appalling all around and we are currently looking for open enrollment options elsewhere.
this school is very filthy inside it is much more nasty then the school right next door if you wan to enroll your son/daughter at a shool make sure its at cedar creek elementry
I have a 2nd and 4th grader who have attended East Bethel for 3 years. We love this school. The teachers have all been fantastic, dedicated and inspiring. We have great communication with them as well as with the administrative staff. The student council program is a great addition to the offerings here, and the PTO is active and involved. I would strongly recommend this school.
My daughter attended this school district from K into 3rd grade. She struggled constantly with reading. In third grade she tested 2 years behind in reading. The provided Title 1 assistance during the entire time she was there. We learned how far she was behind in school circa Thanksgiving of her third grade year. The school told us they would not provide her any additional assistance because she was not far enough behind. No Child Left Behind - Right. Our daughter did not return to this shool after the Christmas break. The following year (2004/2005) we also pulled out 1st grade son from the school district. Thank goodness for home school and charter school alternatives. The rules that caused our problems were District imposed. I found the teaching and Principal staff willing to do what ever they could.
