Lakeview Christian Academy is a great school. This school is academically strong for all my children, elementary and middle school. The teachers push their students to do their best academically and in character development. We look forward to what Lakeview will provide in high school as well.

My school is filled with teachers who genuinely know, love, and care for my four children. The expectations set for the students are high. This leads to a high level of achievement. I am thrilled to send my children to Lakeview Christian Academy.

This is our second year at Lakeview Christian Academy and we plan to send our children here for years to come. The school's student code of conduct is one we believe is of the utmost importance- Not only in school, but in life. There is a true feeling of family in that Everyone has our children's best interests at heart. We are blessed to have the opportunity to send our children to LCA.

The public high school honor classes are more academically challenging then most high school classes at Lakeview Christian Academy. Their high school education is not very good. Children will not be challenged enough in this education. The high school is lacking. Would not recommend sending a child here for high school ever.

This school had a very poor high school education. I had a student here whom I pulled out due to poor education. A public high school is fair better then this school. If parents want a public school Marshall High School is far better! My student here also experienced bullying from students and teachers! Teachers would be very mean to my student as well as the children. I would never recommend this school to anyone due to poor education and bullying from not only the students but teachers as well.

I have chldren in the elementary grades at Lakeview and I have appreciated the Christian manner in which all circumstances are dealt with. I know my children are not perfect, and it is reassuring that the faculty and staff follow a Biblical approach of engagement when addressing the positive and negative aspects of my children's academic performance and social behavior. Thankfully, there is still a place where absolutes are taught in a loving and caring environment without compromise. If you are thinking about a genuine Christian education for your children in a safe, small school environment, Lakeview is a great choice.

I sent both my son and my daughter here two years ago. It is NOT non-denominational school. This school is made up of Pentecostal's and Jehovah's Witnesses. This wouldn't be a big problem - except for that they condemn any other Christian denominational views being "incorrect." The schoolwork is very easy and students get away with doing nothing. It is not challenging. My older daughter had more rigorous work at the other private school, and she was more prepared and accepted into an Ivy League school. I pulled both my children out and put them in the other school in the area and are doing MUCH better. There are no electives here. Only one foreign language, and two art classes. Students will not receive a well-rounded education. The teachers here are far much to personal. Teachers answering cell phones in the middle of class, teachers' family coming & disrupting class, about half of the time talking about personal lives. The students here are very rough and untamed. The staff never answer the phones. Do not send your kids here. The other private school in the area is a little bit more, but more worth your money and your kids will very well prepared.

This is a great place. I send my daughter here and am in administrative support. The education is wonderful and the support each student receives from both staff and family is incredible.

My daughter has had a wonderful experience at Lakeview. It challenges her academically and the peer group is great. It almost seems that peer pressure is a positive thing here.

My students received excellent training to prepare them for college. The staff is caring. The students are expected to do the work assigned them which in most public schools, does not happen. Although the school is not perfect, it is sincere and a great alternative for Christian families.

Lakeview is an excellent school. My children who are now in their 20's received an outstanding foundation at Lakeview both spiritually and academically. They have been well prepared to attend college and well prepared for life in general. One is now about to graduate from Law school, and another is in graduate school to become a Physician's Assistant. We have appreciated the caring teachers, the low student teacher ratio, and the committment to excellence. I would highly recommend this school.

Way too much parent involvement! They control every part of their kids life, this is not a growing environment! I would send my student to a school nearby that will acually foster knowledge and life skills. Not to mention the lack of opportunities this school has to offer!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

More from this school
  • Where can a family find a school that offers an exceptional academic program while emphasizing timeless values, and a well-rounded, others-centered environment? Many have found the answer in Lakeview Christian Academy, an accredited, non-denominational Christian school residing on a campus centrally located north of the downtown area. This pre-school through high school academy has been known for excellence in academic and spiritual training for over thirty years, and provides a complete educational program for primary and secondary students. Students and parents appreciate the small classroom sizes and the personalized attention their children receive from committed teachers. The traditional education at Lakeview focuses on a solid core curricular instructional sequence that is Biblically integrated at all levels, ensuring that all students have a specific depth of knowledge in the core subjects of Mathematics, Science, English, Literature, Social Studies, and Biblical Studies prior to graduation. All students are prepared for any kind of post-secondary education without the need for remediation by providing them with a solid academic foundation. This preparation provides colleges, universities, and vocational/technical schools with students equipped with the required skills that are necessary to start and finish the training process for different careers. Lakeview has a firm commitment to help students achieve to their highest level of ability. In addition to a focus on a solid core curriculum, Lakeview provides a variety of service and extracurricular/co-curricular opportunities. Every student in middle and high school is required to perform a number of community service hours each year, benefitting both the student and the community. Lakeview is a member of the MSHSL and participates in fall, winter and spring athletics. Students are provided with a number of elective opportunities, which include choral, art, worship team, computer applications, foreign language, and yearbook. Additional opportunities through academic competitions, retreats and mission trips are made available each year. Lakeview Christian Academy carefully selects its programming options for students to ensure their alignment with our educational philosophy of providing academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment.
