Laura MacArthur has been very unsatisfactory in my opinion. My wife and I have had no problems in regards to previous years (the past 3 years) but this year has been different. My son kept coming out of the building dressed inappropiately for the weather. Between my wife and myself we talked to his specific teacher several times b4 moving up in staff to handle this matter. Staff sd they tt the teacher but it was an ongoing battle from Jan-the very last wk of school. Staff also sd they wld put a 5th grader in his class at the end of the day in regards to helping him. And yet, more reminders needed to staff. My son is disabled with a poor immunity and cant do this for himself but yet staff couldnt either. He came out w/jacket unzipped & snowpants around his ankles. No joke!

An incident happend with my son regarding a sub. My daughter and another student witnessed what happend and it is a SERIOUS matter. When brought to staffs attention at 9am i didnt recieve a phone call till 7:25pm! She was going 2 get back to me after speaking w/sub. 3 weeks went by and no phone call with other mes left. I cld superintendent. On the last day of school i tt her 4 2min and she assured me school was out so she wld give me her undivided att. the next day when she called. That was last thur and it is now the following wk on wed and no phone call still. Im tired of the staff there ignoring this matter and not addressing it as it should b. 4 weeks and 1 day of no phone call and still counting!

My daughter just entered preschool this year at Laura MacArthur. I have to say our entire family is very happy with this school I'm even putting her sister in the 3 yr old class next Fall. They work very well with the students as well as the parents and keep you in the loop as to what they're doing.

We have changed schools a few times this past school year and MacArthur is the only school that noticed my sons LD and got his IEP done. Thank-you Laura MacArthur!

When I was litte I loved this school and I still do. The teachers are nice and understanding. If your child needs help with a school subject they are very willing to help and there are many activites avalible for your kids. This is an all around great school.
