My daughter attended this school K-2nd. In 2nd grade I questioned her teachers as to why my daughter was so behind at reading and writing. They told me that her inability to read and write was due to her being ADHD. My daughter had never been diagnosed with Attention Deficit and this was the first I heard of it. After consulting with a Psychologist and Pediatrician (both agreeing she did not have ADHD) we removed our daughter from Tesseract and enrolled her in another private school. In 4 months the new school taught my daughter to read and write. My daughter is now in 10th grade and has a 3.5 GPA. Every conference we are told how intelligent, quiet and attentive our child is. We sent our child to Tesseract because they had touted themselves as a school that focussed on the "individual" and avoided the "one size fits all" approach to education but what we found was quite the opposite. The children were out of control and if a child struggled at a subject they were set aside and the teachers spent more time focussing on the self starters and those already doing well. If we hadn't pulled our daughter from Tesseract there is no doubt she would have been held back a grade.
I have 3 children there, and number 4 will go there when she's old enough. The class sizes are great; teachers know my kids well and have time to focus on them. Their standardized test scores show they are learning a ton. And they get Phys ED & recess every day ... which is a great outlet for their energy - and helps them learn better. I'd recommend it to anyone
Our children have been attending Tesseract since 2007. One of the unique things Tesseract offers is the all school morning meeting held every morning at the school s gym. Every student, school staff, parents and grandparents meet at the gym in the morning and classes take turns showcasing their talents, various projects they have been working on, fun programs. Each child frequently gets a chance to speak into the microphone in front of the entire school and families. We believe that this is a great way to build a child s self-confidence and public speaking skills they will use in the future. Tesseract specialty programs are also great (Spanish, PhyEd, Computer Lab, Music and Art). The teacher-student ratio is very small. Our son comes home with a customized homework to keep him challenged in advanced areas. We have been very pleased with our school choice.
My daughter has special needs and the school has been very accomodating in providing a safe and nurturing environment for her for the last four years. Her acedemic and extracurricular achievements have surpassed my very high expectations and standards. The school has given her a great base to build on. We are very proud to be part of the Tesseract family.
I have preschool and elementary children at Tesseract. The all school meeting every morning gives the kids a chance to speak in front of their peers. I do not know any other school that gives kids the chance to learn public speaking. The teachers are excellant and really care about the kids. The class sizes are small, so the teachers know if the kids are struggling with a subject.
Tesseract is an amazing school that offers a wealth of things not found elsewhere. Daily specialists include Spanish, Physical Education, Music and Art. The class sizes are smal and the teachers are highly qualified and dedicated to each student.
My kids are attending the Summer school after reading the reviews. Student service is much poorer than his public school in the region. For three days in a row, there was no welcoming greeting when they entered the class. They are only receiving very limited academic exposure. When children arrive the school, I see few women in the class, they look at us and do whatever they have been doing. Often I have no idea whether they are teachers or parents. My children have learned to go online and play none academic games, quite possibly lack of supervision during computer time. I was thinking of making them go year around, I now have second thoughts. This is the last summer they are attending this school. If the summer school is average, I can't imagine things any better during regular sessions.
We have two daughters attending this school. They both started in the preschool programs when they were 3. The structured programs like music, Spanish, and computer skills are just a few extra that you don't see in most daycare or other preschool setting. The K-5 elementary program is more than excellent. We couldn't be happier with the academic experience our daughters have received thus far. They are never bored in school. In fact, they can't wait to go to school everyday because there's always an excitement in the curriculum awaiting them. For example, the larva has formed their chrysallises and may turned into butterflies over the weekend in the 2nd grade classroom. If you are looking for a school that provides top notch education, excellent staff, and small class size for your child, I would highly recommend you visit the school and see it for yourself.
Our daughter has attended the Tesseract School for 3 years and our experience has been excellent in all regards. What attracted us to the school was the preschool program that offered more variety and challenge than the competition. What keeps us at the school is a commitment to academic excellence and small class sizes. The Tesseract School just celebrated its 20th anniversary, but what is amazing is that the school is such a well-kept secret despite unique programs and innovations over the last 20 years. These programs include all day kindergarten, integrated technology and a foreign language (Spanish). The state legislature is just now considering such programs. Who knows if something will be done. Additionally, Tesseract recently added time to the academic day, even though it was already longer than the local schools. If you value educational excellence, Tesseract provides a tremendous advantage for your child.
I have had my daughter at the Tesseract School for 8 years and our experience has been very positive. The preschool program attracted us to Tesseract and is simply the best preschool program option available in the area. It is cost competitive and no one should settle for daycare with this option available. Preschoolers are exposed to a school environment and classes are taught by degree holding teachers. Preschoolers also receive daily specialists in Spanish, Phy-ed and fine arts. While we loved the preschool my wife and I both agree that the real value comes in the all-day kindergarten and elementary programs. Because of small class sizes (13 to 1 in kindergarten or 16 to 1 or better in elementatry) and great teachers individual attention is available for students of all abilities. Students also get a longer school day. If you value educational excellence, Tesseract provides a fantastic base for your child.
