Foley High School provides a caring small-town feel with big-town opportunities. I knew every single one of my classmates by name, and felt comfortable enough to approach any of my teachers with my comments or concerns. Also, I was able to participate in over a dozen activities, athletic and academic, while attending FHS. This school and community is VERY safe; I never once felt scared or in danger by going to school. I am currently in a graduate program and owe my great start to this high school with high academic standards.

FHS continues to create a hostile, disrespectful environment for our students. We have unmotivated staff, administration and teachers that create and promote an environment that teaches and instills a prison like atmosphere.

Having gone to this high school, I can honestly say that most of the teachers just aren't motivated, which in turn makes the students unmotivated. There isn't anything that is particularly challenging and very often the teachers don't push the students and don't care enough about there students. While of course not all of the teachers are bad. There are a few fantastic teachers that make learning fun and push students to learn and do more, showing them that yes than can actually do it. Overall, the learning experience is lacking.

I am a student at FHS. The school has a good variety of extra curriculers and clubs. There is a wide range of electives to choose from. Most of the teachers are realy nice and explain well and help. A couple of the teachers are not nice, dont care about you and grade, but only one of the teachers I can think of.You will get yelled at for swearing and throwing things and thing like that. The teachers seem to be realy good at supervising and discipline. Safety is important to teachers and can get detention just by forgetting goggles!

I am a student at FHS and there are some pros and cons about my school. First off, there is a select group of teachers that hardly leave their desks while the students are just left to talk. There are some teachers that just give notes and don't discuss them at all. There are definitely some that just teach because they need a job. But of course there are excellent teachers with tenure that know what they're talking about. These teachers care about their students and want them to succeed, therefore they get involved. There is a multitude of EC's to get involved in. The supervision on student behavior is moderate; a lot of innapropriate behavior slides by too often. I personally hate part of my school day simply because I'm not being pushed at all.

Some of the teachers are horrible. They don't teach. Others are wonderful, but there ins't a lot of accountability on the teachers part. You will only get out what student puts in. They don't push you in this school.
