My daughter transferred to the Gilbert Nelle Shean elementary and I was very disappointed with the way that the teacher handles her students. I believe that my daughter was singled out because she has difficulty concentrating and because she is of another nationality! My daughter came home consistently saying how nervous her teacher made her feel. And the principal was no help either, she was very unreceptive. I was not impressed by the school or their desire to help their students.

I am very impressed with everyone I know at this school. My son just started there this year and his teacher Mrs Negen is wonderful. My husband and I have a lot of respect for her. The lunch aids are wonderful, they help get the children with others and that is great. I also want to comment on the extracurricular activities. It is a great idea to have everyone participating in music and sports and art. That helps with self- esteem and just going out to have fun with other children. Thank You very much for everything you do. We greatly appreciate it. Daniel and Patricia Coy

Our son transfered from the Franklin School this year (2003-04 School year) and we have really liked the experience. The class sizes are much smaller, and the community commitment is very good. He can still particpate in all the activities he did at the Franklin, but is enjoying the school atmosphere much more!
