My son has attended Oneka for 4 years. If I can find the right school for 5th grade, I will be pulling my son from Oneka and seeking a better elementary school where kids are not just another "head". He is very bright and has exceeded expectations from an academic standpoint, but has not received the support he needs for some of the (mental) social issues he has struggled with. The teachers do not seem equipped to "deal with" children who may need more individualized care. If your child easily fits in with the crowd and are easily adjustable, with no extra need for support, they will excel just fine at Oneka.

Oneka has a lot of great things to offer. The principal is very committed as are the teachers. The school facility is great, smart boards in every classroom (thanks PTA!), nice gym and stacked library. White Bear Lake community education classes are well coordinated with the school. My son takes Spanish and Mad Science both programs take place directly after school right at Oneka and the teachers are great about making sure they get to the room. Over all I am happy with the positive social environment created at Oneka,
