The teachers are wonderful, and give individual attention to all students. Hopkins High School offers a strong academic program, which has given my child the best foundation for college, as well as college credit through College in the Schools. Hands down, the best school in the area for offering my child preparation for a global career.
Outstanding teachers, wide array of course offerings, block schedule that allows students to choose many advanced and enrichment courses, excellent extracurriculars.
Seriously the worst school ever. The courses weren't rigirous enough, and honestly the athletics and activities are girls basketball and boys basketball. The boys are fading now and so its not even them in the race. I think Hopkins High School was a complete waste of my time here in Minnesota.
Hopkins High School is one of the best schools in Minnesota! I recently moved to Georgia and realized that Hopkins is way ahead of the game! It's a great atmosphere the teachers put their all into teach and always their to help and explain! 5 block is wonderful and all the other tutoring they do before and after school. I can go on and on bragging about Hopkins. Not to mention the social life.. everybody is very friendly, there's plenty of extra curricular activites to get into and after school is best :) I love it.. glad to be a royal!
Hopkins High school has plenty to offer each student if they are willing to work at it. It is a great school with high academic rigor and plenty of choices for both academic and other activities.
I just graduated from this school, and I must say it does a very good job. The caveat is that your child must pursue the academic rigor the school has to offer. It's a great school and the amount of students going to Ivy Leagues this year shows it.
I am a graduate of Hopkins High School, now my children attend the school. I hoped that one thing would change about the school since I have attended. If you are a person of color, attending the Hopkins School District; you have to work extra hard to achieve your goals (in education & extra circulars). If your child is strong willed/minded this is the best place for a great education. I wished that the politics would just go away though!
We live in Minnetonka and open-enrolled our two children in Hopkins. The drive is well worth it. This is the best school I have ever worked with including several private schools. I can't believe that anyone could say anything negative about the Hopkins School District.
Great School with Great Basketball teams and TV Station.
We live in Edina which means we have to drive our daughter to school. Although not always convenient, we don't mind the drive because Hopkins is such a great school! The personal attention for college prep planning that our daughter has been given mirrors that of a private school. The class selection that Hopkins offers is outstanding!
