Great facility with an incredible orchestra program. We LOVE the quality of our daughter's peer group (aside from icky cliques you'll find anywhere). Our daughter is in the accelerated classes, but we have found, esp. in the 6th grade reading classes (which were woefully sub par), that it can seem like student teach thyself. Parents have to overcompensate for faculty underfunctioning in some classrooms. The achievement of many students is really a reflection of the calibre of affluent, well-educated families who pay for many private lessons and enrichment outside of what Chippewa offers. So - Chip gets bragging rights for many things that they really don't create. Just know, this is a proud school, so it has seemed to us that any criticism from parents will be treated with suspicion from administration instead of action. That said, we absolutely LOVED the 6th grade science teacher and the library seems to be well run. The music program is wonderful and there are adequate sport activities. I especially have a lot of respect and gratitude for they way they run after-school programming. Great clubs with good transportation for kids who stay after school.

In my opinion, Chippewa Middle School is a very good school for children wanting a better education in the fields of math and science. It has many programs for students to engage themselves in after-school programs such as ASK. (after-school kids) This program allows students to have time to get homework done in peace if they can't get any at home. The teachers are very kind and make sure the students are understanding the subject thoroughly. The amount of homework depends on the teacher, but usually they give you enough time to finish it.

There is a strong academic culture here and the kids seem to regard doing well academically as important as excelling athletically. The many volunteer opportunities allow parents to contribute and feel a part of their child`s education.
