A small project based learning charter school that is the most respectful, community oriented school for middle and high school. The children are abundantly creative and kind which the teachers nurture and encourage. There talents and abilities to ask questions without fear is incredible. Student Alumni frequently return to help out at the school or take part in activities sponsored by the school. The way the children learn from one another is surprising and goes above expectation. The projects and there presentations are remarkable. Every school should take a page from how this school works with there kids.

My son has attended Nfld School of Arts and Technology for 4 years. He is happy and likes going to school. He has friends and great test scores too! Here students need to satisfy requirements in Sci, Language Arts, Math and other core areas, but at ARTech students may incorporate academic fields into a project that is of interest to them. Skilled advisors guide students throughout the all the phases...proposal, outline development, research, writing, presentation and peer/teacher review. This isn't the place to send your child if s/he isn't going to be disciplined and fully engaged in their learning. But, if you want to send your child to a place where diverse students treat everyone with respect, a place where it's ok, and even cool, to have a passion for learning (languages, sculptures, physics of rockets, Victorian social customs, green technology, write and perform stand-up comedy) then check it out.

I went to Artech for 3 years. From my freshman year to the end of my junior year, I was taught so many things that I will use for the rest of my life. Artech is different from any other school because it provides a secure, intimate, and interactive environment for the students to learn much more than just their books. I have been taught how to perservere, have kept up a high mental strength and attitude, and have developed an overall care for life and for the people around me. For what this school lacks in the 'educational' department, I sure have learned a lot. I don't and will never regret my years as a student at Artech, and I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn what life is truly about.
