In response to the previous posting, over the past several years, the problem has been in the high school area where the homework has been overwhelming. This year may be different from years in the past, but once you have a student in the high school, there are many more demands on the students (since there are fewer of them) to participate in everything along with doing their school work. I have been involved with education for many years and know what is a right amount of homework and know what is excessive. I will agree that our public schools have many challenges facing them. I just know that OCS has continued to miss the big picture in preparing students for further service after school. In addition, the relationship between the church and the school is not good. There should be opportunities for church families to be part of the school

I do not understand where some of the reviews are coming from. My daughter is currently attending OCS. Every staff member I have ever met there has only the BEST intentions regarding their students. Someone said in their review that there is 'too much homework'... what are you telling your children if you expect life to be easy? My daughter is in kindergarten, she is writing, sounding out words, reading, and writing in cursive. The staff here know what they are doing, and I am extremely disappointed that some people would rather deny another student to attend because they are expected to know how to read when they graduate. 70% of students going to high school don't know anything about science. the public schools 'don't give enough homework' so the majority of kids are denied the right to learn, and be expected too. that is why some graduates cant read well.

This is a school that has seen its last days. It continues to make it difficult as a parent to have my children here with giving so much homework and making it unbearable to keep them at this school. They don't care about the children, just the money to keep the school afloat. They took monies from us for playground equipment and we wonder where is the equipment. Are they using the money for something else? Where are all the children from their church? I am very dissapointed in this leadership at the school and church. I would recommend that you find another school to send your child.

This is the best choice for Christian education. I have two children in school. The academic are second to none. The teachers truly love the students.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
