This is a wondreful school. My sons think the teachers and staff are fantastic. My children have been in public and private college prep schools. The affordability of West is amazing and the academics are as good or better than our last overpriced school. The school teaches strong Christian values and religion studies. The students come from all over including many other countries through the international program. If you are looking for a small school that has activities for everyone, strong academics, teachers your kids will love and who are clearly dedicated to these kids, West Lutheran is an excellent choice. Finding a new school is a challanging and stressful process but West has made it all worth it!

We have a Senior and a Freshman in West this year. It is a GREAT alternative to the "mega" public schools in this district. Academic rigor, athletic opportunities, teacher attention and the overall educational experience is much more personal than could ever be accomplished publicly. And the cost is almost 1/3rd of other nearby "college prep" schools.

This school, though claiming to have Chrisitian values does not have enough relgious tolerance for students of other forms of Christianity. I think this school is reccommended to Lutherans only.

West Lutheran is a great alternative to the surrounding very large public schools. It has a very strong acedemic curriculum and great activity opportunities. The cost is lower than most private schools.

We have two children attending West Lutheran High School, and both have had excellent experiences there academically, athletically and socially. The class size is small which enables the teachers to really get to know each student, including their strengths and weaknesses. The teachers are enthusiastic, involved, conscientious and really care about each student. The overall atmosphere is fantastic -- it encourages student excellence, involvement AND responsibility. There are plenty of extracurricular activities to accomodate a wide variety of student interests. And for a small school, the athletics are terrific. There is a high level of parent involvement and a real community feeling -- parents really get to know each other which is a wonderful asset when you are trying to raise teenagers these days. So far it has been a great high school experience for our children and has increased their self-confidence and self-esteem along with giving them a solid education.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
