Rockford Secondary School

I find it to be a very rewarding school, with many opportunities, yet enough competition to make a student ready for a challenge. Most of the teachers graduated from very good colleges, and they know what they teach. There is a 0% tolerance for bullies, and I just love everything about it. :) it does get a bit chilly in the art room, though.

I have three children who have all gone through Rockford's school system from K-12. They have all graduated and moved on to college. This small community has done a very good job of supporting all school activities from school plays to football games. Although the district is small, it gives the feeling of being private in a public setting. If you want your child to be able to participate in a variety of school activities, then this school is definately for you! We feel if one improvement is made, it should be the high schools' role to better prepare the junior and senior students for college. More counselors should be on hand to line up the proper classes, applying for college, resources for financial planning and financial applications and understanding them.

Rockford is a great school, but the funding is failing. The teachers are the best, and the extracirriculars are the best, but without funding, this school isn't anywhere near it's nearly unlimited potential.
